Amazing, professional work. While they charge more than many companies, Chicago Duct Cleaning Company really does it right, which ultimately saves money over the long run. Sounds like a commercial but it's the truth. We hired them 8 years ago and our ducts were filthy, though they had been "cleaned" by another company a few years earlier. That company hooked up a vacuum to the furnace and that was it...this is what most companies do and it's not the way to properly clean air ducts. Joe started from the second floor, removing intake registers and cleaning every one in the entire house. He would have cleaned the registers through which the air flows as well, had we needed it. As a way of instruction, he removed one of the "out flows" to show how clean it was -- they typically are, as it's the intake registers behind which all the dust and dirt resides. And though it had been 8 years, many of the intake registers were also clean to the touch because they had been properly cleaned the first time. So when he finally connected the vacuum to the furnace, it collected the dust and dirt from all the ducts, not just what had collected in the lower area of the house. Chicago Duct Cleaning Company also charged the same price because that's what they do for returning customers. If you need your air ducts professionally cleaned -- Joe has been doing this for 17 years and he's very personable -- we can't recommend this company enough. Not only will you save money but you will breathe cleaner air, perhaps the cleanest you've ever breathed in your home.

I travel constantly so I phoned a few weeks ahead of time to set an appointment. We agreed on a time and date, I explained that  I definitely needed dryer vent cleaning as my dryer sensor was indicating restricted airflow. They called me two days before to confirm the date and time. I wanted the HVAC system duct work cleaned out, however I wasn't sure about the benefits of having that done versus the amount of effort that might need to go in to it. I was also skeptical about the equipment they were going to use to do the job.  Once Joe and Andrew arrived and I saw the type of equipment they were going to use to do the job, I felt a lot more comfortable with them proceeding with that. We examined the system and they found it to be quite dirty... believe me I wasn't surprised. I'm pretty sure the service hadn't been done since the system was installed a few decades ago. I'm a terrible allergy sufferer, so I will go to almost any length to reduce air pollutants. While this service isn't "cheap", considering the investment they have in truly effective equipment, the length of time it took them to do the job, and the professionalism and care they took with my home I feel I received a bargain. I WAS surprised by the amount of dust, dirt, lint, and general crud built up in the system. It's astonishing. I couldn't recommend this provider more for this service. My perception, and I'm a fairly good judge of character, is that these guys are very honest and trustworthy. This is important, they go in to every room of your house that has a register or air return to do their job.

Chicago Duct did a great job. The price was good. They were on time. The technician was very personable and seemed quite knowledgeable. They did exactly what they told me they'd do for the exact price. I was very happy with their work.

It’s rare to find a service company that performs this well. I manage a 19-unit building in Buena Park and this is the second time in 6 years that we’ve hired Chicago Duct Cleaning to clean the main dryer stacks and service the individual dryer supply lines. Joe and Rob are thorough, professional, and excellent to work with. If they see a connection that’s not quite right, they fix it. They disconnect each dryer from the main stack, clean the lint from the discharge line to the trunk, clean the dryer lint stuck inside the dryer, reconnect, test, etc. They’re working in tight quarters and do whatever is required to get the job done right. These guys are pros and I highly recommend them.

They were excellent. Arrived on time. I did get a break because I paid cash. There were two guys and a supervisor when they came out. They were very efficient. I will recommend them to others.

They were on time. They clean the clothes Dryer also. They didn't put the humitfier filter back in humidifier also left filter cover off in one room. I had to sweep the entire basement again after finish.

Although the service tech had a mis-hap the manager was very prompt addressing and rectifying the situation.

Joe was a pleasure to speak to on the phone and explained their services to me. The servicemen who came out (2) were on time and efficient. They were courteous and cleaned up after themselves. They provided me with an explanation of what they had done, and they did not pressure me to purchase additional services. Overall a highly professional company.

The ducts had never been cleaned since the day the house was built and it was scary what came out of the ducts. He did an excellent job! He will be coming out again next week.

Joe and Mike showed up on time and cleaned the entire duct work system. Found several things they pointed out to me that were blocking air flow (ex. cardboard blocking a return vent). Very friendly and cleaned up everything afterwards. Would recommend them to my friends.

Team of two arrived right on time. Explained exactly what was going to happen, and spent 3 1/2 hours cleaning out ducts and furnace. Did a great job cleaning up after themselves and charged exactly what they had estimated over the phone. Very professional and went out of their way to tell me that I would not need their services again for 5 - 6 years. I have no hesitation recommending them to others.

WOW! this is a great company. The previous review covers the call. Joe and Michael came out to complete the work. They were friendly and professional from start to finish.
They set up the equipment and were careful to put a runner under their hoses and to protect the walls, floors, carpets. They did exactly what they promised and cleaned the system from the farthest vents to the furnace itself. Then they did more. Joe taught me how to clean and maintain our whole house humidifier. Also, as they cleaned they watched for potential issues in the system.
They did more than expected and did it well. We will use them again...no doubt.

Overall, it went well! Hence, this is the second time I have used CDC. CDC is a professional company that does great work and exemplifies passion about what they do.
When you go on Angie's List sometimes its hard to filter out companies that are A rated. That's where you have to get into many questions i.e. what kind of equipment, what kind of training, cost valution, availability, and etc. The first time I used them, they sold me by telling me in detail what exactly they were going to do. No other company detailed out what they were going to besides saying they would clean the vents. I had to ask multiple questions to get there. Then again, CDC prides themselves on great customer service. To me qaulity work and excellent customer service is more important than cost. Not that cost is not important. My feeling is you get what you pay for if you get the cheapest company out there.
The one thing I think would be the most helpful is if you have ALLERGIES. Read this:My other half has a lot of allergies and I do not. When we used them in our previous condo, she could tell immediately the differece in the air quality. I could not because my nose sensativity is not acute like her's. Let's put it this way, her nose is so sensative she smells things I almost never pick up on. For me that is great.
Its been a week since CDC has come out and we could not be happier. The other half can tell the differece and that's all that matters. Joe and Mike Thank You. You guys are great!

I contacted CDC based on other reviews and ended up contracting them based on pricing. Joe and Mike were the techs that did the work. The work is very thorough. They have powerful equipment that draws air from the furnace intake (and output line) and they also use 300psi compressed air to break up the dust from individual the room vents. They put down blankets to protect the floor from being marred by the vacuum hose (about 8"-10" inches in diameter.) The setup took about an hour and the cleaning about the same. Joe and Mike were personable very good to work with. They did not have any "gruff contractor" attitude at all. If you had a question, they explained the process fully. If they noticed anything on the furnace or ducts may have needed follow up by a HVAC guy, they readily pointed it out. Another plus is CDC charges a flat rate based on what you need done and not per duct. I have no reservations about recommending them nor reusing them in future.

Everything was excellent. The two gentlemen were polite, punctucal, and knowledgeable. They explained everything and provided great advice.

They were great. They showed up on time and cleaned up completely. They gave me feedback during the cleaning, it was a tough cleaning because it has been too long. They got everything cleaned out, they were nice and knew what they were talking about.

Joe and his helper showed up promptly. Joe spent some time telling me how the process was going to work and what they were going to do. He also did some extra things at no charge. At the end of the job he took me through some things he noticed as we was cleaning such as needing to change the filter and that we had been using two filters in the return vents which was straining the furnace/air con. I wasn't sure about spending this much money on this given that there a promotional flyers out there which offer much cheaper prices and it is hard to tell what the benefits are (and we weren't experiencing any allergies or trouble breathing), but it seems like the air con is working better overall even in the upstairs where it has traditionally not worked well and the smell is better (previous owners had alot of dogs so my fiance was always noticing dog smells in the house).

First - If you are even considering cleaning out your ductwork, DO IT. Second, If you've never had your ductwork cleaned, DO IT. Third, I HIGHLY recommend choosing Chicago Duct Cleaning. I'm telling all my friends and family. The improvement in air quality, as well as the significantly reduced need to dust, is wonderful!

I chose the Chicago Duct Cleaning Company based on my initial phone consultation. The gentlemen (I forget his name) explained everything in detail, and offered the best price. They were able to fit me into their schedule the same week. Joe and Mike were my technicians and did an excellent job. Not only were they punctual and professional, they were a pleasure to have in my home. Very conscientious. They even helped me move some of my furniture. Additionally, they offered other cleaning tips to help with allergies, washing pillows, and the best filters for my furnace.

I agree with other reviewers - this was one of my better Angie's List experiences. The reports for this company were extremely helpful. I will hire them again - in 3-5 years when service is needed.
