Originally given time of 8:30am-10am for arrival. After several calls to office the technician called me at 12:30 to say he was on an emergency call and had to reschedule. When I asked for money back the office made him come. His "cleaning" took about 10 minutes then he told us we needed a chimney lining (which I don't believe). I askedif chimney could still be used, he said yes. Just for my information, I asked for est. for repair of lining. He called office who said we couldn't use Groupon until we purchased lining and the fireplace couldn't be used. Bottom line, we used the Groupon, but will never use their company again.

The fireplace cleanings went well. The dryer vent cleaning was difficult due to the exterior height of the vent. They removed a bird's nest from the outside and also cleaned from the inside with brushes. However, I found out later that they did not completely clear the vent. When my dryer still would not work, I had a repairman come. He showed me that the vent was still blocked. I called back to tell them that the dryer still did not work and they were not surprised. They told me they could not reach the entire vent with their brushes and if I wanted it cleaned, they would need to return and cut out the ceiling. I did not have them come back. I had another vendor come and they found additional bird nest residue in the vent pipe. Also, the dryer lint that fell out of the vent was just left on the floor behind the washer/dryer. In summary, they were unable to perform the work and did not own up to it until I complained. On the plus side, they were friendly, prompt and kept to their bid. If only they had done what they promised!

"After going up 48ft. to reach the dryer vent exhaust,we found a birds nest that reached well into the exhaust pipe for the dryer. Our standard dryer vent brushes are not made to remove branches,sticks,and leaves! Our standard dryer vent brushes are made to remove lint. After removing about 6ft. of sticks,branches,leaves and lint from the exhaust pipe from the outside,we cleaned out the inside pipe. Let me remind all members that the exhaust pipe has an upside down "L" shape to it. Having a 8ft. pipe from the dryer behind the wall straight up to the ceiling, 90 degree left turn, 10ft. of 4"straight pipe leading to the outside of the building! Now we did not want to "cut out the ceiling". We just wanted to cut out a piece of the drywall in the laundry room ceiling enough to reach the 90 degree turn that the exhaust makes to get a "only" view of the exhaust. Note:the customer called two months later with this problem after we completed the cleaning. We are curious to know how the other vendor found additional "bird nest residue".
