because of previous commitments, start date was delayed but when they arrived, work went quickly and professionally.

Wonderful.

After getting estimates from 3 other companies that ranged from about $240 to over $300, Don gave us a flat rate for the work that was significantly less than the estimates and he did a great job. Don had to make 2 trips to our house because he needed to get a new part so that the ceiling fan would sit properly but he only asked for a few extra dollars - I don't remember the exact amount but I do remember that we paid him more than he asked. We will definitely use Don the next time we need an electrician.

I spoke to Don on a Monday, arranging for him to do the repairs the following Monday. He asked me to call him on Friday to set up a time. Thought it was strange that he wouldn't just call me, but I overlooked this. I did speak to him on the designated Friday, and he seemed reluctant to commit to a time, but rather wanted to know how long I'd be home, and he'd just "stop by." This doesn't work for me. I need an appointment time, or at least a window of time. So we agreed on noon for the following Monday. On Monday, noon came and went, and Don didn't arrive. By about 12:30 to 12:40, I gave him a call to see if he was running late. He answered his cell right away, and said he forgot all about it!!!! Once again, he wanted to know how long I'd be home, as he would just come by later. I cannot wait around for the day. I would have just ended things right there, except it would have been another week to 10 days before I'd have another weekday free to wait around for another electrician. He said he'd be by in 30 min. He did come (though about 50 min later). He was able to quickly remedy the problem with our hall sconce lights. But for the outdoor light, he just wrapped electrical tape around the socket. He said he didn't have the necessary part in his car, and wanted to know when someone would just be around in the next few days to let him back in, and he'd take care of it. We are a building of working professionals. No one is typically just home...we need a firm appointment and will adjust our schedules accordingly. Don was nice enough, and apologetic for forgetting our appointment. But not sure I'd use him again. I just wouldn't be willing to take the chance that I'd waste a day off waiting around for someone to not show up when they say they will.

It was a really positive experience. Don set up an appointment for the following evening at my convenience and was punctual. I had heard of him thru a coworker and then checked him out thru Angie's List. I was told that he knew a lot about old houses and their electrical systems and he lived up to that assessment. He explained our options in terms of rewiring (and taking out a few walls) vs attempting to work with what we had. We did the latter and he did a great job. Don is a great resource and I'm glad he's out there.

When I called, the receptionist was polite. The guy that did the estimate was professional and courteous and the same goes for the workers. I liked that they were on time and showed me how to switch it on and off so I felt comfortable enough to do so myself if needed.

They were able to come out pretty quick, I think within the week. I had already purchased the parts and the man that came out installed it in no time flat. The only thing I wish was that he would have been a little neater or would have cleaned up the mess.
