I rec'd the estimate and items were left off that I had requested - specific windows to be caulked, etc.The estimate was revised and the job was approved. I wasn't able to be here when they came to do the work. When I got back, I noticed that the windows I had specified to be caulked had not. I called and they said they would send the original estimator back out. He reviewed the work 3 days later and then tried to tell me that they weren't planning on caulking everything until I reminded him of the revised estimate. The work was done that day and appeared to be well done.
I was told that they inspected the roof on 10/29 and would get back to me with their recommendations. I'm still waiting. I have emailed and called them several times, but have yet to hear back from them a month later.
This company should not be confused with Allendorfer Roofing - THEY ARE NOT THE SAME COMPANY.
The crew arrived on time and were very professional and efficient. The cleaned up all their scraps and did a thorough job. We no longer have any leaks in the ceilings. All in all it was a well down job.
He apologized for the initial trouble scheduling a time and explained that someone had been out to look at the roof when I wasn't home and found more work than the Big Deal accounted for but they failed to follow up with me so I could explain what I wanted to do.
We discussed the work and he agreed to fix all the problem areas for no extra charge because of this delay and confusion about the job. They did a fantastic job! I am really pleased with the quality of the repair work they performed and they really went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied.
In the end I think they spent closer to 5 or 6 hours doing various repair work on my roof so we can get a few more good years out of it before we need to replace it. I will definitely call them again when it is time to replace it.
The request for an estimate was not responded to by the company. Finally, after several phone calls, a representative came out and looked at the roof. He told me that the roof was in a state of deterioration caused by the shingles breaking down prematurely. He also told me that the manufacturer had some sort of claim program to receive partial payment for their faulty materials. In any case, he said that a proposal for the replacement of the roof would be out in a few days via mail or email.
The proposal was eventually emailed to me in November, 2011.
I had purchased Brian Allendorfer's last Big Deal for $199 for Roof Maintenance and unfortunately had a very poor experience. We could not find a date that worked for quite a while which is understandable given the amount of people who purchased the last Big Deal, however the problems really started when he finally did send someone out to look at our roof. The guy Allendorfer sent out came on a Monday afternoon when only one person was home at our 4 unit condo building. That person works from home, so they let the worker in and onto the roof for the inspection. After worker was finished, he did not speak to anyone before he left about what he saw or if he was concerned about anything. I subsequently have called Allendorfer 4-5 times, spoke to them and asked for a report so I could report back to my condo association on the findings/recommendations and have repeatedly been told that "I'll get back to you.....or he must not have found anything concerning or he would have told me about it and recommended further follow up." I just cannot accept that answer and certainly my condo association cannot accept the fact that we paid $199 and could not even get a 1-2 page report of what was in good condition, what was wearing down, etc...
I feel luck to only be "out" $199, and really hope someone does not plop down over $6,000 on this company that seems to in over its head with these Big Deals where it has significantly affected their execution, customer service and follow up. Buyer Beware!
