Quality work. Attention to detail. Always came when Adam said they would. A couple items were re-done to our satisfaction without any hassle or increased cost. Renovations in an old house often result in nasty surprises and the need to adjust plans. Brayview probably had some difficulties here that it did not anticipate. Yet, the work went well, and the add-ons and necessary upcharges were reasonable.

Adam, the owner, is a wonderful contractor with whom to work, with some of the most efficient, effective, and nicest subcontractors and other workers you will ever have the good fortune to have in your home. Adam is easily reachable at any time and charges very reasonably considering what a great job he does. Brayview created a bathroom for us, including a large jetted tub and steam shower that is the envy of all who see it. They upgraded our plumbing and air conditioning and added two additional heating zones that have made our kitchen and attic more comfortable. They created a large, finished basement exercise room that has been a godsend, installed more substantial wood doors, and did painting and other touch-ups to make our house shine. I have recommended Brayview to friends and urge everyone to contact Adam if you want to improve your home in any way.

The result was much better than expected. Totally gorgeous. Everyone was professional and easy to work with. We will continue to use Adam for all of our upcoming products...basically forever (or until Adam retires). Thank you so much! Everything you do is perfect.

Excellent experience with Adam and his crew - no complaints. Moreover, he stood by his work and was accessible well after the project was completed to help out with any issues. I would highly recommend.

There is not enough stars to give them, it went that well. We did find them through Angie's List, it couldn't have worked out any better.

Adam is the only contractor we interviewed who actually followed through with the estimates and work. We had him provide estimates for all of the work on our new home, but due to budget we only moved forward with some of the projects. We had Adam install a half door to an opening to our basement stairwell. We honestly were not excited about moving in until we saw the door! When we moved in and found out our couch wouldn't fit through the door, Adam came over to help and see what he could do. Unfortunately there was no solution, but he took time out of his day to check it out. We also struggled finding someone to replace our windows, but Adam reached out to different companies and we were able to get a warranty replacement. Our next project is our bathrooms and if he is available, we will definitely use Adam.

Brayview did their usual professional and quality job. Our foyer was a mix of bad chipped tiles, horrible popcorn like nubby paint, intricate molding and some odd permanent wall fixtures.
Brayview did and excellent job cleaning this up, scraping the paint and cleaning molding and finding tiles to match floor to cover up some holes. All on time and on budget. The hall went from worst in building to one of the cleanest and nicest.

It will went. They came and gave an estimate for the work needed that seemed fair and also their suggestions seemed like a good solution to our foundation issue. They came and worked hard and were also very concerned that we were happy with the work being done. They were very attentive to our needs and the finished work we are pleased with. Overall, we had a good experience and the work was done well. We would call them again if needed.

They did an outstanding job repairing the siding.  Adam called to let us know when the crew was arriving.  When they arrived they got right to work.  Luckily we had a few small pieces and the contractor was able to incorporate those in to the siding.  We are glad that the siding is no longer loose and hanging down.

We interviewed several contractors after our architect's drawings indicated that this major renovation would take a professional with expert carpenters, plumbers, electricians, painters, demolition experts, etc. Adam was forthright from the beginning, explaining that a quality approach would take as long as six months instead of "false promises" from other contractors. He and a member of his team met with us each Monday at 7:30AM to answer questions, discuss progress and give us opportunities to choose materials or change decisions.
In a condominium building there are restrictions about hours of working, noise, and the problems of parking/deliveries in the city. Adam's crew was consistently on time, made arrangements with the building management, and the organization of labor was admirable. His project manager, Matt, responded to every question and email nearly immediately and every worker was extremely knowledgable in his field.
We had three major renovations in previous homes in the past 30 years and workers were often late or non-existent, although the cost in those days was also considerable.  With Brayview we never had to wait, nor were any of our questions met with anything but polite responses and immediate completion of that particular area. Brayview and crew are definitely an exception to any complaints about contractors. Even during the construction, they cleaned and left the premises organized, and included a total spotless cleaning of all surfaces upon completion. I cannot rate them high enough.
Lastly, when one undergoes a complete renovation it is difficult to envision all architect drawings in person.  When I realized that some of my decisions were not as I had hoped Adam demonstrated a most important quality of answering with "we can change or do anything that you want."  And he did. This often entailed extra hours of work, but by the next week's meeting he had either a plan or had rectified the situation completely.
We are extremely proud of our new home thanks to Adam, Matt, Mark and his full team.  They have our highest recommendation.

In 2012, my husband and I bought a house in Chicago that was built in the 1990's.  It was evident that the house would require extensive work.  we both work full-time and have two young children, so we needed a really good contractor, and Adam filled the bill.  we were able to go to work and not worry about our construction site.  We found Adam to be a real perfectionist when it came to every project in the house.  When we wanted to address a problem or make changes in the plans, he was extremely responsive.  He also alerted us to things we did not recognize.
Adam's craftsmen and sub-contractors were top-notch, courteous professionals.  They always cleaned up the site when they finished their work.  In fact, Adam hired a cleaning crew before we moved in.
Of our five bids, Adam's was the best.  He is very honest.  When line items came in less than he had quoted he passed the savings on to us through credits even though we would never have known.  We saved thousands on these credits.
Adam build us a house that is safe and sound.  We heartily recommend him with no reservations.

Brayview and Adam came highly recommended by a friend and they did not disappoint. We first met with Adam and Matt at the beginning of May. Through no fault of their own, work did not start until Sept. 23 and was completed by Nov. 20.  If Adam hadn't said they'd be starting that Monday, who knows when this project would have been completed due to our slowness. We were brand new at this process and unclear about what we wanted. They were extremely easy to work with ---- they did what we wanted, were efficient, quiet, kept us up-to-date, and were neat.  They were compliant with the condo building's rules. The carpenter did some extra repair work on some antique furniture. The painters (WJS Decorating) really enhanced the overall look. A final cleanup by a service made everything perfect.  So, yes, we would recommend Brayview and we would use them again.

We got a bid from Brayview in mid/late December 2012 and hired them shortly thereafter. Their bid was thorough and well-priced. We were on a little bit of a time crunch for the project because we were expecting a baby in April (any day now) and wanted everything done before then. Brayview assembled all the papers we needed from them for our permit in just a day or two in January. Our permits were delayed for no reason related to Brayview, so the work ultimately started in February, which gave us about two months for the project.
The project took about two months with a couple weeks delay caused by the city not sending out inspectors fast enough and a slight delay in our cabinet order arrival. So we were very pleased with Brayview's pace of work in terms of meeting our deadline.
Brayview is very responsive. I am pretty particular and anal when it comes to renovations. So when I noticed little things along the way, I'd reach out to Adam and he'd immediately address it. My husband was so pleased with Brayview's responsiveness that halfway through the job he made me promise not to scare them off with all my typical questions.
Brayview's subcontractors are all very nice and professional. They were also very patient with our (often barking) dog who was in the house for much of the work. Brayview also handled a lot of little things for us just to make things easier. We ended up having to order and return numerous microwave/hoods. At one point we were in possession of three defective microwaves. Brayview took them all back for us to various stores around the city without any delivery/driving costs. At another point, one of our furnaces was doing strange things entirely unrelated to the construction, and Adam had his HVAC guy out to look at it almost immediately. We really, really appreciated that in addition to handling our large project, the Brayview folks always seemed to want to make our lives a little easier through the whole process.
Perhaps most importantly, Brayview came in TOTALLY ON BUDGET. The only additional costs we had were predicted in advance -- some electrical upgrades Bryaview thought were likely, but couldn't know for sure until we got into the project. I know this isn't always possible. But our two previous renovation projects in our house (with other contractors) both ended up at 15-25% more than the bid we'd accepted and more than we'd budgeted. The kitchen was our largest project to date by far and staying within our budget was an absolute blessing.
We have several other large renovations to do in our house, and Brayview will be the first people we call to give us a bid. I don't see any reason we wouldn't hire them again if they're available. It was a very easy and excellent experience working with Brayview and we highly recommend them.

I have never had such a positive experience with someone doing work in my house.  I had my kitchen gutted and totally rebuilt and other renovations done, both inside and outside the house.  Adam and his team are wonderful craftspeople and are totally reliable. They showed up when they said they were going to and finished when they said they were going to.  They had great ideas when decisions needed to be made amd explained things so well that I could even understand them.I can't say enough wonderful things about Brayview.

Even though this had been a smaller project, Adam had spared no expense and cut no corners. Electricians, plumbers, and carpenters came in and out of the small apartment, but they never got in the way. They were polite and clean, always arrived on time, and afterward cleaned my house so well that I thought about hiring them just for the cleaning! All in all, I was left with the peace of mind of a job well done and a bathroom to impress anyone who took a gander inside. I would definitely be recommending Brayview to my friends and colleagues, and implore anyone on AngiesList to give them a call, you will not be disappointed, trust me!

Our story began with a search on Angie's List for General Contractors. Adam at Brayview Construction Group was our top choice because the reviews are stellar. When he arrived to do an estimate, Adam conveyed a unique combination of qualities that kept us hoping that our budget and his estimate would be in sync: he was personable but businesslike; he listened intently and seriously to our desires for our new home and our financial framework; he took detailed notes about what we wanted and offered his own thoughts as we requested them. If anything, he is modest about his own creative ability to envision changes in a home environment that will enhance and beautify the project because he is not the kind of person who wants to push his own ideas at you. But do ask, and you will find a ready store of creative ideas, a great sense of color and style, and what works and what doesn't.
Adam's estimate matched our budget exactly, and we scheduled the project to begin. We knew it would be a number of months, and we'd geared ourselves up to handle the supposed stress based on stories we'd heard from friends and family.
But there was no stress to handle. Not only that - it was fun! Everything you'll read in the other reviews is absolutely true: Adam and his crew have work ethics and standards that they bring to the job, not only because they want their customers to be happy and satisfied, but because those ethics and standards reside within them. When you stop by anytime during the project, you can sense and see the pleasure each of them takes in the progress of the job, and in the changes that happen because of their work.
Because of the horror stories I'd heard about contractors and rehab projects, I kept waiting for "something to happen." It never did. And that wasn't because everything went perfectly - but because if we ever had a question or a concern, or - because of a supplier's mistake - the wrong color cabinet was delivered, Adam responded immediately and with words that would calm and behavior that fixed the problem. When the crew discovered two layers of wallpaper under the layers of paint - something our very picky inspector had not even found - Adam discussed it with us in a matter-of-fact way, gave us the options and the cost of each, and let us choose how to handle it. Because he didn't want us to feel badly if we chose the less-than-ideal method, we asked, "What is really the best way to handle it?" and only then did he share his opinion. We felt, always, his respect for our moderate budget and financial concerns, but his honestly in not encouraging us to cut corners.
He has a vast amount of knowledge, vision, experience and good taste, as well as the wisdom and good-business sense to use those things wisely when the customer wants and needs them.
We could go on and on about Adam and his crew. We have been through lots of paint jobs, and we have never seen anything as exquisite as the work in our new home. We have never seen tile so evenly placed and perfectly grouted. Not a day goes by when we don't give someone Adam's number or business card. In fact, we have a stack of his cards in our foyer because everyone who walks in asks within 60 seconds, "Who was your contractor? This place is exquisite!"
Adam loves his work. It makes him happy to do a beautiful job - tiny, medium or extensive. That's pretty rare these days. Grab him while you can.

It went very very well.Adam is by far the best contractor out there!! My advice to you is:HIRE HIM!!!-You'll never find anyone better!!The whole process took about 10 months, was pretty much flaw-less and even enjoyable.Adam has an incredible group of subcontractors and their craftmanship is superlative. throughout the entire project  Adam has not been defensive even once. He stands behind his craftmanship 100%!! Before we started the project we never imagined that we could find a contractor that is perfect. Well, Adam is as close to perfect as possible.

We have recommended Brayview construction to friends and  co-workers. Anyone who used them feels exactly as we do!!

I truly can't say enough great things about Adam and his team of subcontractors. Adam is happy, kind, prompt, thorough, smart, and extremely well-respected by his subcontractors.  As if that's not enough, he responds to text, calls, and emails faster than anyone I know! We have absolutely loved working with him and his team - everyone who has entered our home under the Brayview name has been personable, cheerful, professional, tidy, and amazing at what they do. Attention to detail is clearly the name of their game - the guys have such high standards for their work that they will never leave our home without their job being immaculate. I've loved every single person who I've met from the team, but I have to give a shout out to Chris, the carpenter. He took our crazy, 27-shelf drawing and made it a reality. In fact, with his impeccable craftsmanship, it was leaps and bounds better than what we could have ever imagined. It's truly a work of art.

We will never, ever hire anyone else for our home remodeling needs. Adam and his guys have become like family -- they even know the code to our alarm system (and I think Adam fed our cats while we were out of town once!), which speaks to how comfortable we are with them. If you want to work with HAPPY, trustworthy people who respond to your calls within minutes, show up to work on time, and (most importantly) are GREAT at what they do, then Adam and the Brayview team will not disappoint. There's no business I would recommend more.

Adam's got quite a team of subcontractors, all great.  Mark the carpenter, Basim the tile guy, Chris the cabinet maker, Derrick the electrician, Manuel the painter/drywall guy, and Oliver and Eric the plumbers.  We love our new bathroom!

Also, whenever there was an issue (we experienced nothing major), Adam was always extremely easy to work with to get it taken care of right away.

The project went very smoothly. Once quoted, we were given a start date and approximate schedule for completion.
Adam was able to maintain the schedule, while accomodating running changes due to our buildling being older, and cosmetic changes we requested.  He is also offered great suggestions to implement our overall vision.
The workers were on time, and always courteous- answering questions and even offering to help carry in the groceries!
We are very happy with the results- Our back yard looks great, the water now flows away from the building instead of towards it and we can see the flowers in our back yard with our new larger windows on the first floor. Another plus was the neatness that was maintained during the construction- We had minimal (expected much more) disruption to the gardens,  and they also assisted in moving large planters and pots to safer spots.
We  recommend Brayview Construction very highly.

Brayview construction completed the gut rehab on my 4500 sq foot home in 2005.  They completed all aspects of the job and delivered the project on time and on budget.   Since that time, I have Brayview for 3 other jobs  - buidling a 3car brick garage, buidling a 650 sq foot deck with custom planters and cabinets, and general handyman type work (internal/external painting, installing garbage disposal, etc.)  They always come in with a very fair price and their workmanship is excellent.

I have referred several of my colleagues and friends to Brayview and wont hestiate to use them in the future.
