The movers used their own employees.  They did not hire outside help.  They wrapped and cared for every piece of furniture.  We were being billed by time and they worked very diligently.  We will use them again.

Their estimate was 1/2 of the two other estimates I received. I called to ask them why. I have many fine antiques so I hired them. You get what you pay for. Referred by my building management company.
The estimate was off in time and expense. It should've taken two days longer; they did spend one day longer.
Everything arrived well wrapped and we haven't found a single thing broken.
All employees very nice and professional. Left my old home a complete mess though with their packing, eating and paper/box trash. Had to work an extra day, Saturday, to finish the job due to the bad estimate.
Great attitudes. Poor communications between office and workers. And forgot to speak with me about payment methods, bad estimate, the real cost of the move ($5,500 estimate, $8,500 move cost) and more. I tried to call a lot but it didn't do me a bit of good.
The antiques, pieces that had to be disassembled and packed, the artwork and more were all handled very well. They were completed as the last pieces of the move; I wish they'd been completed first since they were the most valuable and hardest to execute. By the end, everyone was very tired and had worked very hard for two days.
Overall, a very good job but I don't know if I'll use them next time. Too many communications problems and uncertain estimating.

They were a great team. It took longer than they'd estimated and they went with the unexpected with grace. They were on time and very courteous. I will use them again with pleasure. The receptionist/calendar person is also very warm and personable as well as professional.

J Bradtke Antique Movers

J Bradtke Antique Movers are Fabulous !
Always on time
They have moved me12 times now, and have known them for over 20 years.
Hard working and they never break anything.
I have an old antique cabinet (8 ft x 8 ft in 2 pieces) and a piano, and they have moved it over a dozen times.
These guys are really good, never any problem.
The company is very attentive to the customers needs.
They will help you pack if you want them to, or sell you boxes if needed.
Reasonably pricing.

They were professional, courteous and so careful with our furniture. They did everything they could in order to make us happy including removing a window to move in a box spring and then replacing the window back in its place.

Shopping for a mover is serious business, as winding up with a bad one can be the nightmare of a lifetime. I had gotten a few quotes based on recommendations. Bradtke's estimator didn't get right back to me for a couple days (apparently a fluke as all subsequent call backs were prompt), so I booked with another company. When Bradtke's estimator, Frank, did get back to me, I told him he was too late, I had booked w/someone else. He was polite and offered to recommend a mover to me, as he knows who's good and bad and choosing a reputable one is critical. I eventually told him who was moving me, and he very professionally expressed concern, and said delicately, "well, I'm not going to badmouth anybody. I would really recommend that you check w/the BBB and ICC before you commit to a mover." after some prodding from me, he fessed up and said they were one of the worst ranked in the state, and offered again to recommend any number of other movers. He was in no way pushy or trying to sell his company, just trying to be helpful. I told him thanks, took a pass, and I would consider them in the future. In the days that followed, as friends and co-workers asked who was moving us, we both got alarming nightmare stories about our moving company..."Don't use them!" I guess Bradtke was right. So in a fright, I called Bradtke back for a phone estimate, canceled on the other company, and booked Bradtke. Boy am I glad I did. They showed up for both moves about 15 min. early w/a 3 man crew. Frank was one of the crew and acted as mover, consultant, and translator for the Spanish speaking guys. I pointed out just once what was to be moved, thrown in the alley as trash (an old couch etc.) or left alone, and he relayed the info and remembered everything. They swung into action wrapping furniture, packing loose items, and even re-taping/reinforcing some boxes I guess I sealed not to their standard. My plasma TV was quickly wrapped in a bubble wrap cocoon with cardboard corners, and some furniture partially disassembled with not a screw lost. All with no special direction from me, I just stood happily and watched the action. The move went pretty quick. Not single item broken. In fact, I discovered after the fact, that a sloppy speaker stand I had was mysteriously now rigid...somebody tightened the screws. a nasty bulky computer desk was taken apart to get thru a door and reassembled. Move #2 went just as smooth. The prices were fair, and the crew got a good tip for both moves. At the end of move 2, I offered the hard working crew a cold beer and they accepted before they took off. Moving is about the worst thing in the world, and nobody can ruin your day like a mover that is less than nearly perfect. I'd hate to think I'll ever have to move again, but if I do, it's Bradtke, and I'm telling my friends.

The move was from one condo to another within the city. They gave me an estimate that was based on time and materials and they ended up being within $100 of the estimate. They wrapped everything well and I didn't have a single scratch on anything. They even had to lift items through a 2nd story window. I would highly recommend them and use them again.

The move from start to finish was a first-rate job. They cost a little more per hour ($155 for 4 men), but they are well worth it. They arrived 15 minutes early, which was great because we were ready to start the job. They carried heavy pieces with ease and worked at a rapid pace. The movers were really hustling! I mean, really. They were practically jogging. They were all pleasant to work with, which was really nice, because moving is stressful enough. They even took the time to get some hard to reach hardware for a curtain rod off of the wall. We couldn't do that ourselves, so it was great to have the help. They wrapped all the furniture well, and it arrived in perfect condition. The estimate (from all the different quotes) was 5-8 hours. We were thinking that it would be closer to 8 because we have a lot of stuff and even purchased new furniture that was in the storage space in the basement of our apartment building. But, it only took 6 hours. We were astonished. Great job!

Four guys were assigned to the job and they did a great job. I felt that they moved everything quickly and safely. We have used them for a number of moves and have always been impressed with their promptness and work-ethic. Their work came in 2 hours less than what they anticipated. Would highly recommend.

They gave an accurate estimate over the phone; 3 workers arrived at the stated time, worked very hard and efficiently, very professional and nothing lost or damaged! Everything was carefully wrapped before the move and then carefully unwrapped. Price competitive. I've used them in the past and have always have excellent service and I'd definitely use them again.

When I had to postpone the packing and moving dates due to a delay in my new home being ready, Bradtke was very helpful in arranging alternate dates. The team of packers treated my belongings carefully and did a great job packing everything. I don't think anything got broken. They treated both locations with care, placing clean cardboard on the floors, so they wouldn't track dirt into either place. The movers were quick and respectful. Everyone seemed to work very hard, and the team blazed though the job like a well-oiled machine. I would work with this moving company again. They're expensive, perhaps, but well worth the service I received.

The movers began the job on time and came within 20 minutes of their estimated completion time for an all-day move. They were pleasant to work with and were knowledgeable about moving antiques. Though there was one minor breakage, the company had it professionally repaired and delivered it to me within 3 days.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH BRADTKE MOVERS WAS EXCEPTIONAL. THEIR ESTIMATE WAS FAIR COMPARED TO THE OTHERS I RECEIVED, AND SPOT-ON WITH THE FINAL PRICE. THEIR CREW WAS EXTREMELY HARDWORKING, POLITE, AND PROFESSIONAL, AND TOOK GREAT CARE WITH ALL ASPECTS OF THE MOVE, WHICH INCLUDED SEVERAL PIECES OF VALUABLE ART WORK, AND ANTIQUES. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.

THEY ARE MOST KNOWN FOR BEING ANTIQUE MOVERS, BUT DO EVERYTHING. THEY WERE VERY CAREFUL WITH OUR BELONGINGS AND WORKED EXTREMELY HARD UP AND DOWN ALL THOSE STAIRS (NO ELEVATOR). THEY BARELY TOOK A LUNCH BREAK AND NEVER COMPLAINED. WE PROVIDED DRINKS AND TIPPED EACH GUY $70. AT THE VERY END, A SECOND CREW CAME TO HELP UNLOAD, WHICH MADE EVERYTHING GO MUCH FASTER (MAYBE THEY SHOULD HAVE HAD ONE MORE PERSON ON THE CREW), BUT MOST OF THE WORK HAD BEEN DONE BY THEN.
