Bismark Roofing

Ross was very responsive and easy to deal with. If we ran into questions on quotes or about the job site once the project started he was on top of making sure we came to an agreement that we were happy with. The metal cornices they put up look great and the exterior painting job they did on our building looks wonderful.

Bidding: They were great.  Ross (project manager) was referred to me by a friend who has a slate roof.  She liked him because he was knowledgeable and didn't try to up-sell her during the bidding process.  I found that to be true as well.  In fact, when he came to look at my roof two years ago, I hadn't saved the money yet and he said I could probably get away with another year or two if I had to.  Honest!
Price: Considering the amount of work they had to do and the steep peaks and valleys of my roof, the price was very fair. They used high quality materials. (some roofers skimp because they know the owner will never know.)
On-site: Tarping and protecting your and the neighbors' houses is a big part of the job.  Ross's crew did a great job.  I had a very picky neighbor that they accommodated.  The job took 4.5 days and they cleaned up every night so my dog was safe to walk around.  Final clean up was wonderful.  The crew was courteous and helpful, especially Antonio, the crew leader.  The roof looks great!
I had a few extras I needed, like replacing a piece of aluminum on the fascia, and they threw that in.  I also had another last-minute request that they accommodated.  I was a little bit of a nervous nelly (because you cant see up there!) and they answered my questions patiently.  Ross is very accessible and patient.
Snags: sometimes there is a disconnect with the office (run by Mel).  Nothing serious and I'm not complaining, but suffice it to say-double check scheduling with him.
Note: They are very BUSY, so they don't always remember every detail of your job.  As with any contractor, it is up to YOU to check-in and make sure they are remembering everything! Again, not complaining-this is a reality of rehab. (I've rehabbed two properties). 
Overall, I was very pleased and impressed with the quality, clean-up and honesty of this company.

Bismark was responsive to my initial phone call, and came out two days later to view the issue. I received a detailed description of services to be performed and an exact price within 2 days of the initial meeting. They realized the issue was causing water in our home, and squeezed us into the schedule within one week. The day service was scheduled, it was raining, so I received a phone call explaining that the work might not hold if it was performed in the rain. We had a few rainy days following, and on the first sunny day possible, they were at my home at 7am fixing the issue. I have had no issues since. 

The initial roofing process was fine. However, in September 2008, less than a year after the roof was put on, we started to experience roof leaks. They came to fix the roof, and leaks stopped, but we still had water damage inside the house. At our expense we had the water damage repaired. In September of 2009, we experienced more leaks. The leaks have continued, causing thousands of dollars of damage and no response from Bismark.
