The basement was only roughly finished and only in part of the area. Craig at Achi-Build worked with us to redesign the space to make better use of the footprint. That included moving existing walls to expand some areas while reducing others. Early on during the construction, he identified that a major beam supporting the first floor had been cut into to run wiring, which meant that it was not providing adequate support to the first floor. He worked with us to design and install a steel support beam which fit within the existing wall and ceiling structure so that it was invisible to the eye upon fishing of walls and ceiling. Even with this unexpected situation, the work was done within the planned timeline. The project included design, creation and installation of a custom desk work space, overhead cabinetry and book cases. It also included design and creation of a custom temperature and humidity controlled wine storage room.

Craig stayed very involved in the project from beginning to end. He stopped by regularly to meet with workers, inspect work, consult with us on decisions to be made, etc. And he is very conscientious about the workers he chooses to utilize for his work.

This firm is honest, fair, and had the expertise I needed to make important decisions. I was pleased with all services and advice. I would use Archi/Build again without hesitation.

The Archi/Build Group Inc. remodeled our basement. It is now an absolutely wonderful space. The architect, Craig Cernek, handled the entire project from designing the basement to being our contractor and builder. Mr. Cernek bid out and hired all of the subcontractors (i.e. electricians, plumbers, dry-wallers, carpenters, insulation, etc.). He also gave us expert advice on the steps we needed to take to prepare the basement for the project (i.e. testing for lead paint and asbestos and repairing foundation cracks). Mr. Cernek was very professional and very knowledgeable about all current aspects of design and construction. He completed all of the budget and contractual deadlines. Mr. Cernek patiently explained all of our options, the details, and the costs involved ahead of time in meetings and in writing. All of the change orders were in writing and clarified verbally. Mr. Cernek's work was of the highest quality and was very affordable. He was extremely easy to work with and had the utmost integrity with his clients. My wife and I were very pleased with every step of the design and build process. We highly recommend Arch/Build Inc.
