James was timely, friendly, transparent, and the work all looks fantastic. I would highly recommend him to my friends and family and would definitely hire him again if the need arises. 10/10!

Great! In addition to the more mundane aspects of painting a very large total surface area, James was able to efficiently work around the wooden railings, carpeting and doorways while neatly and completely covering the 3 story hallway, using 3 separate paint colors (1 for ceiling; 1 for wainscoting/lower paneling; 1 for upper/main walls). His high-altitude work, painting 15 feet up on a ladder set on the stairs was particularly impressive. James's ability to work quickly while still providing exceptional quality - and his easy ability to communicate with the home/condo owner, is really a welcome (and rare!) combination to have in a contractor.

James was attentive, detail oriented, punctual and hardworking. He estimated the project to take 8 weeks and it only went over by 2 weeks because we added a few changes during the process. He handled most aspects of the project, but found competent sub contractors (tile work, electrical, plumbing, drywall/paint) when he needed specific expertise. After the job was complete he made sure to address every punch list item or any issue that we noticed after living in our new space for a few weeks. We plan on using him again.

Archetype and James did excellent work start to finish. He found a creative solution to a problem I was having with a custom loft door. James was clear and transparent throughout the process. I met with James on several occasions and he was always on time and easy to get ahold of. The price was great especially given the level of work performed. James was able to work with my schedule and the project was finished ahead of schedule. I will use Archetype for all remodeling/rehab projects in the future!

Once again, Archetype Homes delivered with perfection. We were absolutely delighted with the work. He was so much better than we ever anticipated. We finished on time, slightly below budget with all the details executed flawlessly. James communicated with me every step of the way. He explained how the work was going, sent pictures, kept a beautiful spreadsheet regarding the expenses. I couldn't imagine working with anyone else in Chicago.
