Everything was perfect. Steve came to the house and measured and went above and beyond when it came to matching the cabinet color to my existing wood trim. The cabinets arrived on time and in good condition.

This was a massive project, all custom, and with its particularities. Because of chemical sensitivities, we had to use solid wood and finishes that would not off-gas when dry. I got quotes and samples from other suppliers whose products were substantially inferior to ACK's and more expensive. The artisans who built our cabinetry were clearly proud of their work. We have a line of lower cabinet drawers that extends the length of a stairway above it. The cabinet makers were able to make the drawers appear as if they were all cut from the same walnut tree, with the grain lines running from one end to the other. The same amount of care was given to everything else, from the walnut waterfall top on our island (also with continuous grain lines), to the gorgeous pantry cabinetry and desk, and pass-through window from pantry to dining area. We liked ACK's work so much that we asked them to create our stunning walnut stair stringer and railing; they bring the entire look together. We could not have done this without Carolyn's creative input and expertise, and I had tons of fun working with her. There were hiccups along the way, of course, and some were caused by other people, that the cabinet makers then had to fix. Patience on all sides was required for a project of this size; Carolyn and her team stayed with it until everything was perfect and all the glitches were fixed. Thanks to all of you!

We first met with Mark Heidkamp in August of 2014 in preparation of our large remodeling project the following year.   Mark was wonderful to work with.   He talked with us on what kind of cabinetry should go where based on our lifestyle and cooking habits. This first meeting was only to get a quote.  At the same time we sought a quote for non-custom cabinetry for the same exact kitchen.   Amish Custom was only $2500 higher for the entire kitchen.   We were excited that custom cabinetry could be in our price range and with fantastic Amish carpentry quality.   After signing the contract for the kitchen we quickly soon thereafter added the mudroom lockers, a handicap accessible bathroom vanity, a wood island countertop and a entertainment center with a two-way display case.   Each time we added a new project for them to design they came in under or close to what we were seeing in design stores and quotes we had received from online vendors, plus they were custom creating to our specifications.  We were thrilled. 
We worked with Mark Heidkamp the entire time.   He was professional, personable, very knowledgeable/skilled about carpentry and just a great guy to joke around with and keep the task fun.  He worked really well with our architect and together the two tackled design and spatial issues that would be only pertinent to our job.  Mark came out several times to measure, alter and redesign as our remodeling project progressed.  We started the actual remodeling work in June of 2015.   By the time we placed our order it was early August 2015 and we were afraid that the cabinets would slow down the pace of work.   Not the case.   All of the cabinets were delivered together 4 weeks later in superb condition. Due to miscommunication, the countertop was stained a different color than we wanted.   After a brief discussion with Mark on day of delivery, the guys just loaded the countertop back on the delivery truck.   A couple weeks later Mark came to see the work and brought a new countertop with him.   I am still in communication with Mark as he is helping me with staining wooden air vents that need to be placed into the entertainment center. 
My project is just wrapping up.   I love working in my kitchen.   It was laid out extremely well and I can't think of anything I would want to change.   The cabinets make me cry for joy.    I actually hug the cabinetry as my husband, boys and dogs sadly look on - but they get why.   We are excited to create many wonderful moments in our new space.   Thank you Amish Custom Cabinetry for making that happen at a reasonable price.

Carolyn was extremely professional at every meeting.  she had to come out in the freezing cold winter to field measure twice before our new construction was enclosed and heated.  We ordered the cabinets and they were very flexible with the delivery as we were building new and things never work out exactly as planned.  The were delivered, our carpenter installed them and they are absolutely gorgeous!  a few minor issues with a streak in the color and a little nick in one of the doors.  They responded within days to pick it up and had it repaired within a couple weeks.  We also had to order some additional decorative pieces and every time it was "no problem" attitude and professional.  I have worked in the service industry for years and they exceeded expectations.  Their product, workmanship, value and service level are bar none.  I have recommended them to anyone who will listen and my GC is extremely impressed and will be recommending them as well.

We initially heard about Amish cabinetry from a friend who recommended them in general. We initially were not looking to spend more than 8-10K or so for cabinets, but the more research we did, the more we felt solid wood cabinets would stand the test of time better. Once we decided that, we started getting estimates, and as it turned out, ACC was not that much more expensive than the big box stores. W started looking for solid wood cabinetry sources in our area, and discovered Amish Custom Kitchens within about 5 miles of our house! We visited their showroom, and upon seeing the quality of craftsmanship and finish we were sold on ACC.
We worked with ACC to refine our existing kitchen cabinet design, adding some nice features along the way. They helped us adjust the overall design to be more balanced as well as flesh out some of the other details like a special microwave cabinet, spice rack, etc. We also had some very specific thoughts on how to use the vanity space in our bath most efficiently. ACC was helpful throughout the design process.
Once we arrived at a final design, it was around 4 weeks to complete the order. They were delivered on time and, with the exception of 1 cabinet made incorrectly (out of something like 40 or 50 pieces) and a damaged drawer front, everything arrived looking amazing! Both issues were resolved quickly. From start to finish it was very easy to work with ACC. Only other issue we had was a discrepancy in the estimate somehow was overlooked until after the order was placed. I think what happened was 1 or 2 pages of the estimate somehow didnt get included in the PDF sent, so when I got the final invoice it was higher than previously stated. I'm sure it was not intentional, as I recall at the time they were in between offices, and things were probably a bit chaotic. At any rate, I cant recommend ACC enough. You get what you pay for in this case, and the quality, design and craftsmanship are really tremendous.

They did a really good job with good quality. The cabinets are done very well.

We worked with Mark on the design and layout of our kitchen remodel.  He was very professional and really pleasant to work with.  He gave us two possible layouts after our initial visit and was always available and responsive to any questions we had.   He is very knowledgeable about design and suggested some little details that really made a big difference in the overall appearance of the cabinetry.  
We  have to say that upon visiting other showrooms and meeting with other vendors most of them were unwilling to give us a layout to take home without giving them a sizable deposit.  Mark was never like that which was actually one of the deciding factors in going with Amish Custom Kitchens.
Our cabinets were delivered at the time scheduled and came blanket wrapped in perfect  condition.  Not a problem with anything.  Every cabinet fit perfectly.  During the cabinet installation,  Mark was always readily available to answer any and all questions no matter how many times we called him.  He was always very pleasant and always professional.  We thank him for that!!    The quality of the cabinetry is excellent,  really  beautiful.  So glad we went with Amish Custom Kitchens.  We just love them!

We met with Steve Bailey from Amish Custom Kitchens three times to design a custom audio/video cabinet for our family room.  We gave him exact dimensions of the space and exact dimensions of the TV and equipment that needed to fit in that cabinet.   We were very happy with the design he created.  We gave him a $3000 deposit on July 20.  We still had to make a few decisions so we asked him to delay the construction.  Once we finalized what we wanted, he did say it would take 6 weeks to manufacture.   He originally gave us a delivery date of 9/23 but the truck was full that date.  We okayed the new delivery date of 9/26.  We were in no hurry anyway.  We still needed electrical work to be performed prior to install.   Although Steve Bailey offered to install the cabinet for $950, we wanted our own carpenter because of other work to be performed in the family room.

Our architect referred us to Amish Custom Kitchens. They?re a custom cabinetry shop in Chicago that offers traditional inset doors. We have a bungalow kitchen and designer Mark Heidkamp did a fantastic job optimizing every available inch. From the pull-out pantry doors to the hidden electrical outlet, every detail was perfectly executed. ACC also referred us to general contractor Mike Travers and granite contractor Midwest Granite. Mike did an excellent job installing the cabinets and remodeling the entire kitchen. Although there were a few glitches along the way, we?re thrilled with the final result.

Great experience from beginning to end. Steve Bailey was terrific. I met with him two times to discuss what I needed. He provided detailed drawings and valuable insight which helped me to make good decisions about the size and type of cabinets I wanted. I was worried that getting custom cabinets would delay my kitchen project, but the cabinets were delivered on the day promised.  
Because of the location of the pantry cabinet, it needed to be cut on sight.  Steve sent someone out right away. After the cabinets were installed, I discovered that one cabinet drawer did not close properly and the front had a crack in it. Steve responded immediately. The drawer was fixed and the cabinet front was replaced within 2 weeks.
Originally, I was going to use a prefab cabinet maker to keep the cost down, but on a lark decided to check out what Amish Custom Kitchens had to offer. I am so glad I did. The quality is so much better--they are beautiful inside and out--and cost differential was not significant.  

They are amazing.  I am super satisfied with them.  They did a fantastic job and they did it for 30% less than the other bidders that I had from other Amish cabinet makers which made me nervous but the quality was incredible.  I was particularly shocked when I realized after they had done the installation a month later that I wanted a vertical divider above my oven to put cookie sheets.  They fabricated one and delivered it to me for free which I could not believe.  Their price was what they quoted I did not ask them to lower the price or anything.  I ordered the cabinets in July and they were delivered and installed in September.  It cost me $17289 and the other bid was $22000 which was without the additional cabinet.  It is beautiful and I could not have asked for better.  Everyone who comes into the house comments on it and we have been living with these new cabinets for 5 months and there have been no issues.  When they delivered it everything fitted perfectly.  There were no modifications at all that the carpenters had to make which I think is noteworthy.  It is very stressful when they come out and measure because you hope that everything would fit okay and that they would get accurate measurements.  Everything was right on.  They really know what they are doing and they have the experience.  I would definitely recommend them.  I did not even have a personal recommendation and researching them was the reason why I joined Angies List.

This was my first remodeling project. I had very little idea what I wanted. So I took a few photos of my current kitchen with cabinet's dimensions and sent to multiple cabinet makers for quotes.  Amish Custom Kitchen was one of the few sent me the drawings.  They had the confidence for me to take the drawings and shop around to compare the price.  Other makers wouldn't give me any drawings until I put down a deposit. 
Mark DiValerio was the designer for my project. He was professional and friendly with many design ideas. He came to my house multiple times because I changed my ideas more than once. He was very patient and accommodated my changes.  During the project, I consulted Mark on other design items such as lighting, backs plash, appliances,etc. He really went above and beyond to help me.  The cabinets were delivered on the scheduled date.  Originally, I thought eight weeks delivering time was too long. But it worked out great because I needed time to decide appliance, counter tops, etc.  The cabinets are beautiful and of high quality. It really was a value buy.  I highly recommend Amish Customer Kitchen and Mark in particular. 

We spoke with 3 different cabinet providers, and went with Amish custom Kitchens.   They gave us the options, quality, detail, and customer service we needed.   We sat down with Sharon Miller, she was a pleasure to work with, and was always following up.   Everything was custom, utilizing every 1/4 inch!   The cabinets were solid wood, not just the face, the drawers - tongue and groove, all the hardware made everything glide and close.  One of the cabinets ended up slighly off due to a mis communication.  We noticed on a friday, it was fixed on monday..  After the cabinets were all in , they adjusted all the hinges, fixed a problem with a drawer slider.  The doors on the cabinets were inlaid, making all the tolerances very tight.  We asked if they could recommend an installer, and ended up using him to do the entire job.  It's absolutely beautiful  . . . . I am very happy with the cabinets and the service from this company.  Each time I had a question or concern, Steve Bailey called back promptly and answered by concerns patiently.  The cabinets, all custom built to fit my kitchen (with virtually no standard sized anything) look amazing.  I think one of the best parts of using this company, though, is the professionalism and responsiveness of the people.  It was so different than working with a big box store!

The project went very well overall.

Excellent from start to finish.  We thought that custom hand made cabinets of this quality would be out of our price range.  What we found is that cabinets from other places (same number of cabinets minus the pantry) would have run between $12,000 to $15,000.  Steve Bailey invited us to see all of the finishes and cabinet styles at the Northwest Highway location.  After making a few selections, he set up a home visit at our convenience.  We then got a chance to see what it would look like in our home.  Steve listened to what configuration we wanted, and even made several suggestions that were excellent, like having a cabinet with a built in for a microwave to save counter space.  After his visit we got a call in a few days, and went in to see the plans.  The contract was easy to read and every detail documented.  The cabinets arrived about 8 weeks later and were breathtaking!  I still can't believe how beautiful they are!  They were delivered with care, and Mike from from the Northwest Highway location was here to supervise the delivery as well.  A detailed guide was given to us for our contractor for installation.  This kind of personal attention is lacking from so many businesses today.  If you are considering a kitchen remodel, give Steve Bailey a call.  Also, the Amish Custom Kitchens do other pieces of furniture as well, and we definately plan on using them again in the future.

This was a gut and remodel.  Everything went and all new.  I contacted the Amish representative after going to the big box stores for estimates.  They only have standard sizes and without many of the upgrades I got, their  prices were within $100.00 of the Amish custom made.  (one was $60 lower and one $100 higher) Steve came out and helped design a perfect layout for my kitchen.  From the time we finalized the layout, material and extras it was 6 weeks til delivery and they were there exactly when they said they would be. The whole experience was very pleasant and professional.

This company is great!   Mark designed our kitchen layout and came up with great ideas about the layout - has built in tray dividers, silverware divider, trash pull out, and huge pot drawers.   Also all the drawers are full extension soft close, along with soft close doors.....  even included in the bath vanities.   The cabinets are all wood, all maple, have the fridge enclosed in a cabinet, designed panels on the ends of the cabinets that show, 5 piece drawers, etc.   You get to pick your layout, wood, stain / paint, door style, edges, etc. - truly custom.     The delivery guys were very quick and nice also.    Our contractor installed the vanity lights not centered over the cabinets and Mark paid to have it fixed so we were happy!     Can't say enough good things about this company; will always use and recommend them from now on.

The only downside is that you need to order 10-12 weeks in advance, but it is worth it!

Steve Bailey, the owner of the company, came recommended to my husband and I from two co-workers, one at each of our jobs.  From the beginning to the end, we received the best customer service!  We absolutely love our cabinets!  I was very nervous to spend that much money on cabinets, but I can already tell they are worth it.  These are cabinets that will last a lifetime!   Our house was gutted and rehabbed - of all the changes to our house, the cabinets are my favorite part!  Everyone who comes over comments on them.  Even our contractor who was skeptical about these cabinets because of the price said that he now thinks they were worth the money.  He said he remodeled a house in Hinsdale where they spent twice as much money on the cabinets and they are not even half as good as the ones we got.    I wanted to make our rehab as green as possible, and Amish Custom Kitchens help me do that.  They are a local company and the two Amish companies that Amish Custom Kitchens work with are in Arthur, IL, where the cabinets are actually made. These are high quality cabinets that won't have to be replaced.  The cabinets even come wrapped in blankets so as not to waste boxes. We also got a cabinet care kit included that includes Old English wood polish.   High quality cabinets are a worthwhile investment and Steve Bailey's guidance and ideas make the process one of the easiest parts of rehabbing.

Steve Bailey was great to work with. I had the basic design for the kitchen remodel. Steve was very helpful in measuring and improving the design. I was under a time restraint and he was able to deliver beautiful Amish made cabinets in a very short time period. I installed the cabinets myself but they will install for you also. I will be using them again.
