Marius and his team were fanatic. We moved into a small but very well kept up 1940s brick home, and the only problem was they had installed ugly cream carpets over the whole house and all the original hardwood floors. We called up Alexandru after a suggestion from a family member who had used them several times in the past. Marius came out for a consultation and explained the whole process and our options to us very clearly and was a pleasure to deal with. We were on a tight budget and decided to remove the old carpet and track strip ourselves to save cost and time. Once the floor was revealed it was in rough shape, there were several holes in it, some across multiple boards and a fair amount of gouges. The were also two large floor return registers which had been using ugly metal grills to cover them that people would avoid walking on, effectively making our rooms smaller. Marius came back out the day before the refinishing to do a last minute inspection and told us he could fix all the issues. The actual job took up the next two days, and the floors turned out beautiful. They replaced all the boards with holes in them and built in some custom matching flush floor registers for the returns. They were even able to remove an awkward 6" outcropping of tile from the kitchen that jutted out into the dining room and finish beneath it. All in all it was a great experience, the price was fair, they were always prompt, and the work was fantastic. We will definitely use them again on any flooring project and would recommend them highly to anyone in the market.

It was great. Wee needed to quickly re-finish our closet floor so that the new closet organizer could be installed. We contacted them and they agreed to get the work done on a Saturday so our project could stay on schedule. We are very pleased.

I will preface this review by saying that I rarely hire contractors, and I prefer to do all my home remodeling and repair work myself. Though I have refinished hardwood floors before, the scope of my project dictated that a professional was needed due to the time required to do the job and the level of finish that I wanted.
Alex was able to not only get my work done on relatively short notice, but because I was able to commit to the job quickly and my house was empty already, he was able to do the job a few days ahead of schedule. We talked about my concerns for durability, especially in the Kitchen, and he suggested a Swedish finish. It was the right call because it's already survived the completion of my remodeling project, moving in, and more remodeling. I was just going to have them finish the new flooring, and I was going to put carpet down in the bedrooms because I thought they were beyond saving. They suffered from gaps, nail holes, and squeaks along with severe pet stains and adhesive. Alex convinced me to try to save them and I'm glad I did because even with the gaps and squeaks they turned out beautiful and for much less money than carpet or new wood would have cost. It goes to show that it never hurts to take advice from someone who knows their business. When I need flooring work done again in the future my only call will be to Alexandru.

The job performed was just excellent. The hardwood floor now seems and appears better than new. Scheduling was simple and the job was finished in the time predicted. The men did excellent work sanding, buffing and coating the floor. I am so pleased with it!! I would definitely hire them again for any future floor projects. Very nice people to work with.

I needed the floors in my apartment refinished - my fiancee and I hadn't moved in yet, and we were getting married in three weeks. It was a pretty stressful time.
The building was constructed in the 1920s and the apartment itself hadn't been lived in for a few years, and the unit had primarily been used as storage. (My grandmother owned the property and had fallen ill so she was unable to keep it up like she used to) The hardwood floors had never been finished before (or at least hadn't been finished in a very long time), and were in particularly bad shape. Working on a tight schedule (we wanted to move in before the wedding), I wanted to find a contractor who could start the job within the next week.
Marius was able to come and look at the project the same day, and was able to get his team out the next week. He said the project would take three days. Work started the next Monday (Labor Day) with sanding, which continued on Tuesday. On Wednesday they added the coats of finish and the job was done.
Every day the team would come in the morning (usually 2 people, sometimes 3 for set-up and clean-up), at exactly the time they said they would, with a call about 20 minutes beforehand to let me know they were on their way.
I could not be happier with the final result. Family and friends remark on how well the floors look (especially the people who had seen it before the refinishing)
Marius was straightforward with the amount of work that needed to be done, and was realistic about the costs and time considerations at hand.
I will likely be looking into other hardwood floor refinishing projects in the future, and I will definitely be calling Alexandru to get them done.

Alex was asked to redo the hardwood floors in our new 3 bedroom condo in the city. Job was one schedule and the floors look amazing. Alex and his team came in, gave an estimate and thats exactly what I paid. The took only 3 days to complete the job. He called me daily to give status updates while I was out of town. They were clean and very efficient. They even gave recommendations for stains.

Alex was a pleasure to work with. We only had a short amount of time between the closing of our house to when all our furniture would be moved in. Alex was able to work us into his schedule and kept in timely communication with me as to his availability. In addition to the re-sanding, buffing and staining, there was also a section of hardwood that needed to be replaced. I thought it would be costly because it was the end pieces on our diagonal floor pattern. Alex replaced the minimal amount of hardwood to keep the cost low without sacarificing the diagonal pattern. Overall, we're very happy with the results and the price we paid.

Alex is wonderful to work with! Our new floors look AMAZING!!! From the very beginning, he was very personable, professional and his prices were the most reasonable. On site, he and his partner are incredibly meticulous. They spend a lot of time prepping the area to make sure the end results are the best they can be. I really appreciated Alex explaining why certain things needed to be done so that I understood the process and why I would be charged for certain things. In addition, they are incredibly neat, punctual and he even finished ahead of schedule. Alex recommended some fixes throughout (thresholds, etc), not to raise the price, but to really improve the condition of our second floor. The end result is incredible. Our floors went from dull scratched up hardwoods that were under old carpeting to gleaming, beautiful floors that look brand new. The stain is perfectly applied and looks beautiful. There is no doubt that if we ever need any work done on our floors in the future that we would go back to Alex. If you want to see your floors undergo a complete transformation at a reasonable price -- you'll want to too.

After calling Alex, he told me they do repair work, gave me an estimate based on the description, and scheduled a time to come out. He came with one assistant and explained the challenges of matching color for repair work. He also recommended working with a shorter peice (not the 8 foot piece that had the gouge in the hallway). Anyway, the den work was against a wall, while the hallway work was more important for appearance. He showed me different stains, and we choose one that looked to match. Anyway, the den work dried and looked good, yet the hallway piece looked too brown surrounded by yellow. I sent Alex some pictures, and he agreed to come back and add more stain. This time he used a combination stain / poly to finish, while the first work was stain then Syntecko. Bottom line is that it that it blends in well now, and I can always put in a longer piece, if desired, down the road during a re-sanding. Alex and cohort were pleasant, friendly and professional.

We had the floors in our old condo refinished and revarnished, getting the place ready to sell after a year of renting it out. Alex was on time or early for every appointment. His communication was excellent - if there was any sort of news or rescheduling to do, he called me in a timely manner. We obtained two other estimates before going with Alex, but his price and his communication were the best. Alex noted that the floors were very old, so they'd be careful not to sand too much. He also did some small patchwork, although we all agreed that no boards really needed to be replaced (thank goodness!) The job took 2 days, plus 1 more day for drying. The first day, Alex's employee sanded down the floors and started the sealing process. Day 2 finished off the sealing. After letting the condo sit for one more day, our floors looked even better than when we moved in 5 years ago. Although we did not choose the "dustless" option, Alex and his guys left the condo very clean. There was very little clean-up for me to do! I would definitely choose Alex to do work for us again.

The process could not have gone better. There was good communication before the job was started and once the team arrived they surveyed the problems and presented a few for us to consider. Overall the process took about a half day, and we are very pleased with the results.

Alexandru was prompt, an excellent communicator, respectful, and fastidious. I called Alexandru, having talked to him twice previously, on a Tuesday and he was able to come out that night and assess the job. They started the following day, Wednesday, and finished on Friday. Every problem that came up was solved quickly and the entire process was very smooth. The most important thing I look for in a contractor is communication and Alexandru never failed on this point whether it was to call to tell me they were stuck in traffic and would be twenty minutes late or in discussing technical details about the materials or the process.

Alex came the day we called for an estimate and started work the following week. He and his helper worked for a day and half, covering up the old floor with new. The result is beautiful!
