Great as usual. Have called Nick in the past. I believe I called him atleast 5 time for appliance repairs. Been satisfied every time! He's great worker. Honest and fair on prices. He is also fast at his job. He doesn't waste any time.

Jeff said problem was that line froze because insulation was failing and he would order something to continually thaw the line. Came back later and and quot;installedand quot; it. Problem of no water dispensed continued and he came back and back. Finally said he did not know what the problem was. I called manufacturer repair person. He came for the repair and said that in fact nothing had been installed to thaw the line; that was why it continued to not dispense water. I spoke with Jeff about this and he said he would issue a refund. Refund was not received.

The repairman explained how the defrost works and provided some tips on finding a replacement for a missing support bar on the door.
He also told us how you can tell the approximate age of an appliance from it's color. Apparently they don't make brown or yellow anymore. Today's color is chrome. But white and black are always around.
It's was pleasure to find a true professional who knows his field, and is honest and reasonable. Too many people are greedy and simply crooks these days.

My mother's 50 year old stove stopped working so we called Aand S to see if it was repairable. Jeff e was in the area when we called and came by promptly which was super nice. My mom was really comfortable and trusted his opinion. The stove was beyond repair, however we really appreciated his input and expertise. He knew very quickly it was non-repairable and was in the area so he didn't charge us anything which was incredibly kind. We would certainly use these folks again.

They were wonderful. I talked to the owner and the technichian called me back within an hour. He came out exactly when he said he would. He was able to fix the dryer and it works great now.

Our washer quit emptying. We called Aand S who came out the day we called. He checked the washer, determined what was wrong and attempted to find the part. He had to order it and picked it up the next morning, came and replaced it. The washer has worked like a charm since. We could not have asked for faster service.

At 7 pm yesterday evening, the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, I discovered that my oven would not turn on. Frightening images of roasting the turkey in my fireplace (not really possible).
I was able to self-diagnose probable cause of the problem on the web (needed a new igniter). Called GE for service. Monday at the earliest. Useless. Called Angie's List where I was immediately connected with someone. The person I spoke to gave me a few names and also emailed me a long list of possible appliance repair companies. The first company I called answered the phone right away. He told me that I was outside their service area. But only by about a mile and a half I said. Can I pay you extra? I'll come, he said, and you don't have to pay me extra! He asked if it would be okay if he came first thing in the morning. Of course!!
Jeff came exactly on time, installed a new igniter, and charged exactly what he said he would. He was pleasant, helpful, and effective even though he really doesn't want to provide service where I live for any future problems. He also answered our questions about our washing machine's new noises.
What a positive experience this was, both with Angie's List and with the repair person. Thank you to both!!

This company was courteous, punctual, and went the extra mile to make sure the dryer repair went well. It turns out that both thermostats had burnt out. The whole repair took less than one hour and the repairman even replaced the dryer venting tube because he and quot;didn't like the way they did itand quot; and did not charge for this service! We requested help on Thursday and they came out on Friday, accommodating our schedule. I would heartily recommend them for your large appliance needs.

This fix went beautifully. Jeff carried this heater in his truck and it only took minutes to remove the ice and install the heater. The heater is reasonably priced and Jeff was friendly and professional! Great people to call!

I called Aand S Appliance and left a message. My call was returned promptly by a lady who said she needed to check and see if they serviced my location. After checking, she called me back and confirmed that they did service my location and told me when the next appointment was available. I asked if the the service person could call me when he was in front of the building as it is a gated location.

The service man was scheduled to come out on July 25th, between 7:45am and 8:30am. On 7/25/11, I rec'd a call from Jeff at about 7:40am. He explained that he was scheduled to look at my dryer and would be on site in about 25 mins and would call when he got there. He was very courteous.When Jeff arrived he looked at my dryer and told me it was nothing major but rather the odor was generated by the continuous use of dryer sheets in the dryer. He explained that dryer sheets leave a film on the in side of the dryer drum and that on occassion the inside of the dryer should be wiped down to eliminate build up. Otherwise he said the dryer was well maintained and since he really didn't need to do anyhting there was no charge! I asked him if he was sure and he said yes- how bout that!!! I would definitely use this company again for their courteous and professional nature..

When I called I talked to a human who said they were backed up, but she could get someone out (I think it was Tuesday at 2 but not sure any more) in a day or two. We bought ice and made do until then. Jeff arrived on time/early. He immediately found the problem, said it was a common one, and that he had the part in the truck. Fixed it in less than an hour. I wasn't even home, got home just as he was finishing up, in time to write a check. So far the repairs on this fridge total less than the cost of a new one, but probably next time I will just replace it.

I will ALWAYS call Aand S first when a large appliance needs repair. They are honest and the prices are fair.

I searched this list for other repair services when Aand S was not available right away. Very few of the other nearby companies mentioned refrigerators in their lists of specialties. Perhaps Angie's List should break down the category into types of large appliances. (I will post this in the suggestions area).

Overall it was a pretty good experience but there was a breakdown in communication. This communication breach caused the servicing to take longer than anticipated. Here's what happened...I called, left a message and someone called me to set up an appointment. Then the service technician, Jeff, called to confirm the time and date. He was very professional, friendly, and punctual. He arrived 3/3. First, he looked at the oven. Apparently the problem was common enough that he had the replacement part with him so he was able to quickly repair the oven. Once he looked at the dishwasher he discovered the computer board was blown. We discussed whether to replace the computer board or purchase another dishwasher. He gave us pros and cons of both and we decided to repair the dishwasher. He ordered the part and told us he would call to set up another appointment when the part became available. He estimated a few days. Jeff called within a few days to say the part arrived but it was broken and he was re-ordering the part and would call when it arrived. Two weeks went by without any communication so I called to follow up, again I left a message and someone called me back to say that the technician would be in touch. Jeff called and apologized, he had been out of town. He arranged to come over and install the computer board on 3/23. The computer board was installed, a few days later the dishwasher would not reset. Since there is a one year warranty on parts, I called Jeff he said that it was not the computer board but a problem with the switch. He ordered the part, came over and repaired it on 4/3. If I had an appliance that needed servicing, I would more than likely call this service. The technician was professional and knowledgeable; the prices seem reasonable.

After having a horrible experience with a big-name appliance store, I called Aand S to fix my dryer, which had been on the fritz for several weeks. They asked what my availability was. I told them I happened to be staying home from work the next day, but otherwise, I was only free on Saturdays. The young lady told me she would check their schedule and call me back within 10 minutes. Ten minutes later she called me to say the repairman would be at my house the next morning between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. He was. He fixed my dryer within a half hour. Later that day I referred him to my mother to fix a problem with her refrigerator that she'd been dealing with for at least a year. He went to her house the next day and fixed it.

Very well. Service man explained what part had failed, that he had the part on his truck and that it should only take a few minutes to replace it. 15 minutes later, we were back in business. After, he explained that this was a common problem, especially with a unit that old that got the kind of use that it did. Finally told me that the parts were warenteed for 1 year and told me to please call if there were any other problems.I was happy.

The man that came out, looked at my washing machine and said that the cost dor the repair would very high and recommended that I just buy a new one. He didn't charge me for the service call because he didn't do a repair. He also looked at and gave me advice on my stove as well. I feel he went above and beyond and I would definitely use them again.

I selected A and S Appliance Services because of the other positive reviews. However, my experience was horrible. The first visit by the technician was just to analyze the problem. He returned a week later with a new electronic board for the water filter. The water filter still did not work, but after I purchased a new water filter from a home improvement store, the water flowed wonderfully. I mentioned that the ice maker was still not working and also that the electronic display panel still needed to be replaced. I was told this was a special order, and may take several weeks. After another 3 weeks had past, I called to follow up on the special order part and my non-working ice maker. I received one call back from the company, but over 8 weeks have passed and not a word. I have left numerous messages and they have been non-responsive. I just wish A and S Appliance Services would of completed the job they started. Next time I will pay more in order to have a completed job.

When I called for service I thought the problem was the door seal and asked to have someone come to repair that. Jeff came within 2 days, within time period arranged, ascertained the problem was not the door seal at all but the lower hinge. Called for parts while here, was able to let us know when he could have it and arranged an appointment, accommodating our time schedule, to come back and make repair. Door works perfectly now.

Very responsive; came out the next business day to diagnose and give an estimate. I was able to find the parts on-line for less than their estimate for parts and they were very agreeable to simply doing the installation (and helpful in giving me the parts' numbers). And it ended up that their final billing was less than the original labor estimate plus service charge. I would definitely use them again--responsive, good value, very professional.

My dryer stopped heating, and I needed it fixed. I didn't want to wait the couple weeks it would take to get one of the big "factory authorized" repair guys out, so I called these guys. Right off, they told me what the charge for the call would be, and it's about half what the big guys charge. Bob called me right back, said he'd be here by noon. He called again when he finished the call before mine, said he'd be here about 11:15. He got here on time, was very courteous. He figured out what the problem was in about 10 seconds, told me what the repair would cost, and had it fixed in about 10 minutes. The best part, though, was that he keeps dog biscuits in his toolbox, so he even made friends with my dogs. A very nice man, and a good repairman. You don't get better than this.
