I cannot speak highly enough of AAA Crosstown. My wife and I live in SW Chicago and suffered a classic Chicago summer power outage that fried our wall-mounted garage door opener. After some failed self-help troubleshooting, I knew I would need a professional. I left a voicemail for Crosstown. Within a half an hour, Joanie called me back and said that her husband Don would call me back the next day when he was back in the office. The next day, Don called me first thing and asked if I could fit him in before 1 pm that day. Don came over that morning, replaced the opener, and even threw some oil on the garage door to boot to reduce squeakiness. In all, it probably took less than 30 minutes. Don and Joannie are both extremely pleasant and engaging. Their prices are competitive. I would recommend Crosstown to anyone, particularly if you are somewhat proximate to Midway!

This happened on Memorial Day and they came out the morning two days later, which I thought was fast. He arrived late but finished quickly and charged $100, which I thought was reasonable.

He came back back to make sure it kept working smoothly. I liked his responsiveness. He had the best prices for the services. He gave a 5$ senior discount and I really appreciated that.

We had just moved into the house and needed a new garage door installed. We chose the company as they were close and able to do the job for us. Their price was in line with other companies. It is a non-pinch door so that your hands can’t be accidentally crushed from opening or closing. There were no troubles with the work. Overall, they were fine.

On the evening of 9/16/13, my garage door opener broke. The chain that runs along the center track was sagging so I assumed it either broke or became disconnected. First thing the next morning, I tried to call Lincoln Way Garage Door Service Pros who had installed the opener in 2006 and did follow-up adjustment work in 2007. That company is out of business and “Crosstown Door” and my call auto-transferred to Crosstown Door. I talked to Don and set an appointment for 4pm that same day Don gave me an over the
phone estimate of $165. I received a call from Jerry around 3:30pm saying he would be at our house by 4:30-4:45pm. He arrived after 4:45pm but not much after. He found that the chain was not broken and said that they rarely do. It had been
installed too tight and, over the years, wore out the gear box in the opener. He replaced that gear box. Afterwards the door opened and closed more smoothly than before, so I assume he did some adjustments in that area too. I suspect the gear box was a more expensive item than a broken chain, but he stuck to the $165 estimate. The area was clean after Jerry left. I’m pleased with the work and the price.

Called for information about a new opener, spoke with wonderful woman who went over things and was happy to schedule an appointment for a Saturday. Installer called before coming out and arrived right on schedule. He removed the old opener and replaced with new. Inspected door and oiled it. Finished in about 1-1/2 hours. He then went over all the details of the new opener and gave me tips on keeping things working. Overall a very good experience. I would recommend them to everyone. The old standard of service was still there. Trustworthy and reliable. Not to mention that my opener works great!

They returned my calls promptly and courteously, and did everything they promised. They worked with my insurance company and informed them of damage and what needed to be done to fix door. My old door was discontinued and could not be repaired.....they showed me choices and colors and were very knowledgeable about what needed to be done.

AAA Crosstown installed a new garage door opener for me in December, 2011. My opener died unexpectedly and this business was able to install a new opener on short notice (less than one day). Service, emergency response and sheer friendliness were outstanding!
The product installed is high quality and the price for material and installation was more than reasonable. The opener required a brief follow-up call, to adjust tension, and again AAA Crosstown responded within several hours. The adjustment was so minor and the call was so short that they wouldn't accept payment for a formal service call. This business more than delivers.
By the way, they also delivered two green pepper "Thank You" plants for my garden.
I would gladly do business with them again and encourage anyone to employ them for any garage door work at any time.

My garage door needed alignment again. It was aligned and new rollers put in by Crosstown in October 2010, but was again out of alignment. Don came on 11-29-11and put in spacers to align door, but the handle still was too close to the frame. He also ran the door up and down many times causing it to overheat and smoke. The garage door worked when he left, but the next day the unit would not open/work but just hummed. I had another company put in a new motor starting capacitor as the one in the unit had blown out probably, in my opinion, because the door was up and down so many times.

Don came to align the garage door as the handle was hitting and indenting the frame on the outside on NOv. 29, 2011. Don had previously on October of 2010, last year aligned the door putting in new rollers, libricating, etc. This time he put spacers on the metal lift to shift the door so that it would not hit the frame. I think that the handle is still too close to the frame. He opened and closed the door so many times that the motor overheated and started to smoke. He said to let the motor cool off. The door was working when he left. The next day the door would not open and the motor just hummed. I called another garage door company and he replaced the motor starting capacitor as it was burned out. He said that opening and closing the door too many times on a residental unit will burn out the capacitor as residental garage doors are not meant to be repeatedly opened and closed. Further, he stated that commerical units can be continually opened and closed without damage as they are built for that. I would not use the company again under either name.

We put a call in and had a service visit the same day. They provided prompt and courteous service. The technician also even left us a can of oil in case we needed to lubricate the chains again.
