The initial price was low. They forgot to clean one duct and they sweat talked to me into buying a ultra violet light that according to them cleaned the bacterias for a price of course.

Also we don't do duct cleaning, we have been referring American duct cleaning to our customers for over 10 years. They are out of Northbrook. You may have called us looking for duct cleaning and we referred you to American duct cleaning out of Northbrook. I can't see any records under your address or name. Sometimes this happens when names change due to marriages. Any way I wanted you to know incase you are reviewing the wrong company. There is A Custom Climate which is not us. We are A Custom Heating And Air Conditioning Inc. on Chicago's North West Side. We also don't do duct cleaning. Thanks again for the kind words. Thanks Tom"

The work turned out okay. The guys were nice. They came out and were there for two hours or longer; they were very thorough in doing the inspection. I was expecting to get some type of the report with the results. The guy came back a week later with a list of recommendations he had, instead of a report, which is more what I was looking for. The list of recommendations seemed excessive in list of number and expense. For that reason, I decided not to work with them further.

The team at ACustom were wonderful. They were on-time, personable and honest. After cleaning the furnace unit, they also recommended a few options for better performance and suggested that we actually choose the least expensive option for better air quality - just using a different quality filter. Since following their advice, I see like the rooms that seemed warmer in comparison to others are cooler and more comfortable. I highly recommend then and would use them again if I needed addition service.

The technician who came was prompt and very nice. However, they installed a subpar part in the unit which had to be replaced by another company at a later time. Therefore, the work that A Custom Heating & Air Conditioning did wasn?t helpful. Last april they put in a water heater for me and it has been good, I have had no problems with it.

"It was a pleasure to serve these members.Unfortunatley when we got there there were existing problems.The company who installed there furnace installed a larger one than needed.Also the air intake system had a design fault and made the system short cycle,it also hadn't been maintained in years.We evaluated the whole system and gave them the option to fix all the need repairs at once and they declined and only wanted the immediate problem fixed which we did.A week or two later they called us back out one of the other coprimised parts went out which we alerted them to at our earlier visit [kind of like getting a tune up and only replacing the fouled plug].I am sorry they called someone else out to replace a part that we warranty part and labor for one yr.and explained warranty at time of doing the work and is also on the invoice.We install only factory part's and don't make them.If the part malfuntioned or we would have gladly replaced free of charge.My apologies to the member for obviously not comunicating to them better as service, customer service, value and integrity is what A Custom is all about."

Having used A-Custom in the past, I knew they were reliable. Despite a sudden, early cold snap, with lots of heat emergencies, they scheduled my "routine check-up" with only a couple of days wait. On the day of the appointment, they called ahead to let me know about a delay, and re-scheduled at a convenient time that same day. Tom Peterson was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and honest. He looked at my ancient boiler and marveled at how much carbon had built up, but cleaned it cheerfully and didn't try to sell me anything. Although he had brought a fairly expensive programmable thermostat, he was willing to install a less expensive one I had purchased. Finally, he inspected and vacuumed my tenant's forced-air system. He answered all of my questions honestly and personable.
