They installed a vinyl fence on my property late last year. The fence came out fine but they dumped the excess stone/concrete used in securing the fence posts into my neighbors yard behind some bushes. Needless to say he wasn't happy about it and neither was I. I called Fence Masters on several occasions, left multiple messages and spoke with a handful of different people, including one foreman (or whatever his title was) who said that he was going to come out and make it right and that they didn't do business like that and so on and so forth. Well, he never showed. I called again afterward and left another message for him. He never returned the message. They also forgot to put their company sign on the fence. Normally I wouldn't care, but the workmanship warranty states that the sign must be present for the warranty to be in effect. I told them about this during my calls as well, but they didn't do anything about it. The bottom line is that the company is completely unprofessional. Installing a fence isn't rocket science, there are plenty of companies out there that will get the job done right. If you want one that is customer service oriented and conducts itself in a professional manor, Fence Masters isn't it. I will never hire them again.

Smooth, right from the start. Stan their sales representative answered all my questions, made several stops at my house to go over additions I wanted to make to original plans. I was given enough lead time, of when install would take place. Guys came and took day and half. Very satisfied, everything went exactly how I was told it would. Investing so much into a project like this made it easier working with professionals like this. Definitely would recommend.

How'd it go? In one word: Horrendous. Where do I begin? Lets start with the installation date. The job was started while I was at work, under my wife's supervision. When I returned from work, my wife informed me that the internet as well as our home phone was not working. Up to this point, the crew had the post holes dug and the posts were already installed. Since they were digging the holes very close to where the underground cables were marked, it was pretty obvious that they had hit a cable. (A little to coincidental). I talked to the foreman of the job and let him know, and he denied hitting any cables. We had a "spirited" conversation about it and he disagreed repeatedly from what I could understand (he spoke very broken English). After about a half hour of disagreeing with me, I finally brought him my home phone and computer and showed him that they "all the sudden" didn't work, I finally got him to admit it. So he hits a cable, lies to my face, and wastes both of our time. Even though he acknowledges it, he has no intention of rectifying the mistake and dealing with AT&T, apparently that was my job. Fortunately I got them to come out and fix it for free, had they attempted to charge me, I told Fence Masters that they would be paying for it. He said No, it was the surveyors problem because they placed the flags in the wrong place. I told him that I don't care about surveyors, I hired YOU guys, and YOU guys hit a cable, bottom line. Furious from day one. Now lets talk about the very first windy day, and our double gate we had installed. They used a pin that slides through a latch and it constantly came out, and I would have to put the latch back in and re-pin up our gates constantly. The first day with significant wind, I come home from work to find the entire locking mechanism broke and my gates slamming all over the place. I find a "makeshift" way to keep them closed and call Fence Masters. Here's where the real fun begins! I called several times, each time resulting in the phone operator lady transferring me to a person that never answers their phone, it always goes to voicemail. I left a polite message to get the situation rectified. A few days go by and no return phone call. I repeated these messages several times, each with no response. Finally I get a call back several phone calls and weeks later, and he says they will call me to set up a time to fix the issue. Days go by with no call. One random day, I came home to find out that they came and did the repairs in my yard, without so much as a courtesy call to let us know that they would be in our yard. Nonetheless, problem solved right? Wrong. They did replace the broken locking mechanism and in order to alleviate wind pressure on the gates, they drove a pipe into the ground for a gate latch to slide into. Great idea! The problem is the latch at its lowest position goes about 1/2 into the pipe, which effectively does NOTHING when the wind starts blowing. It needs a longer latch for it to do anything, which apparently they couldn't figure out. So a few weeks later, we had our second day with significant wind. I come home from work to find my gates slamming all over the place, the brand new locking mechanism is broken and a line carved into the ground from the latch (that easily blew out from the installed pipe). With no way to secure my gates, I had to use an entire roll of tape through the gate handles to keep my gates from slamming around. Again, I call Fence masters. My first call was over a week ago. Since then, I have placed several calls, left several messages, and not a single call back. We are absolutely APPALLED by the customer service of this company. And thats where I stand as I type this. A 5 month old, $8000 fence with the gates held together by electrical tape, and a company that has absolutely no desire to fix shoddy work and right their wrongs. We absolutely regret choosing this company, and urge you all to pick a different company if you're looking to spend that kind of money on a fence. Absolutely pathetic, all the way across the board. They messed up my neighbor's property.  There was dirt everywhere and there were slats that need to be replaced because they are buckling.

They were excellent. They were very fast and quick to come out. They gave us an estimate and the estimate was fair. They did a great job. I go by my husband when he says something's a great job because I don't know anything about fencing and he said that they did a great job. They were also reliable and professional.

Initially, due to the insistence of the manager at Fence Masters, I arranged with a tree removal company to be at my property within a half hour of the scheduled arrival of the fence crew so they could remove a tree stump in the corner of my property which was right on the fence line with the tree branches imbedded in the fence. The fence crew needed to dismantle the fence around the corner so that the tree company could get their equipment to the stump.
For reference, this wasn't done sooner because of all the relevant homeowners owning pets.
Unfortunately, the manager for fence company never notified the crew of these arrangements. They showed up very late which infuriated manager of tree company. He threatened to pull his equipment at one point, but I convinced him to wait since the fence crew was almost there. This created many headaches which could have been avoided due to lack of communication. I'm quite sure the tree company took a loss on me with all the time that was wasted.
Once the crew dismantled all my fence I was informed they were packing up early so one of them could make a doctors appointment. This crew consisted of only two men. This was on a thursday of a scheduled two day installation.
On Friday, the following morning, I was informed the crew would be running late. Later, I was informed that they would not be back until the following Monday since the crew member seeing the doctor had to be hospitalized. I had already arranged for two days off work to oversee this project so that was a waste. I tried to get fence masters to send someone else to do the work but, they claimed they had no other crews available. I could only presume that all their crews consisted of only two men.
The following monday came and again, because of delays at the shop, the original crew came several hours later than expected. I was still able to be home for the project since I was now on a vacation week. Couldn't go anywhere though. So, my two  day project turned into six.
Regardless of all the delays, miscommunication, and avoidable headaches, I couldn't be happier with the finished product.
The two man crew was fantastic. They were extremely hard working, professional and knowledgeable. We went over the whole project at the start along with the survey plot and kept communicating throughout the project to avoid any further problems.
As for the management of Fence Masters, they did make a serious effort to satisfy all my dissatisfaction with the delays, etc., and we did reach a satisfactory solution prior to the final payment.
At this point I feel I could still recommend them as a fence contractor with the caveat that there may be scheduling issues due to lack of manpower in my opinion.

They told me that I had to obtain the permit.  I went to the city and they were not registered and had to wait for them to do the paperwork.  They called to set a date 4 days prior to install.  Called and told them no on the date because of the permit snafu and that I would not be there.  One of the requirements on the contract was that I had to be there.  No response.  Came home that day and the fence was installed anyway.  Fence looked ok but the double gate latch was meant for a single gate only and that was the only latch they had, too bad for me, nothing they could do to fix it.  Gates were crooked as well.  They could have told me ahead of time that they don't carry double gate latches. No warranty paperwork either.  Another issue was that they kept sending a worker(who didn't speak good english and was only "doing what he was told") rather than someone that could talk about the problem.

from each other and keep passing the blame to each department. They sub-contract to inexperienced people who are not properly trained in the fence business.

We had a difficult time finding a good fence repair company who deals with Veka Blue fencing products.  Fencemaster did, and their representative did a good job.

It went well. They were very proactive and fixed my pool gate fence when they noticed it was in need of repair as well.
