LIGHTEN UP

He took much longer than he should have because he never put in a full days work. He would tell me he was coming the next day and would have the work done, and the next day would come and he would leave in the middle of the day and say he would be back tomorrow. He put a gutter on so it leaned away from the drain hole. When I told him that was wrong he told me he wasn't worried about it. The gutters he put on were not caulked so I had to do that myself. They leak in the back. The roof leaks he was supposed to fix were not fixed. When I had another roofing company come out to fix his work they told me he had done it wrong. I wasn't surprised since the problems he was supposed to fix weren't fixed or were worse. He had done work for me before and he had asked me if I wanted him to paint my fireplace chimney. I told him no and one day when I came home he had painted it . He chose the color and it was not a color that I liked, so when I had him doing this work I asked him to paint my chimney a color I wanted, since I never wanted him to paint it in the first place. He told me he would need to put two coats on and would also paint behind the gutters. He only put one coat on the chimney and never painted behind the gutters. Then when he gave me his bill he said it was higher than the estimate because I asked him to paint my chimney after he gave me the estimate. The only reason I called him for the second job was because no one else would come out to give me an estimate. Next time I will do the work myself before I call him, it will probably be done better that way.
