I originally called Simmons Plumbing over 7 months ago. Simmons family events caused some delays and false starts, but eventually Denny Simmons got to my call for service. He came out to talk about the work I wanted done, and started work a week later. Being retired, I spent all the time he was at my house discussing the job, and helping him whenever I could. While he spent at least 10 hours working, he said he'd only charge me for 8 hours of labor plus the cost of the piping and the fittings. (We provided the sink and faucets). So far we haven't received a bill for his service, which doesn't surprise me. Simmon's Plumbing is now pretty much a one-man operation, and the business side of things is what Denny likes the least. I will probably have to call and remind him to bill us.
I had no problem with the service and quality of Denny's work, and would ask him back if I need plumbing done. He is a good plumber, and is honest as the day is long. Some people might be put off by the stories he tells, but then most people wouldn't take the time to stand around and listen.

They do an excellent job...very tidy and complete in their clean up.
Have used them in the past for other jobs as well.

The plumber (Denny) spent more time talking than working. I asked how much it would cost and he kept reassuring me that I didn't need to worry because he is not trying to get rich. When I received the bill a couple weeks later, he charge me for 6 hours at $80 per hour. If he works 40 hours per week for 50 weeks a year (assuming 2 weeks vacation), then he is making $160,000 a year and that doesn't include overtime or weekends. I consider that rich. Plus, he spent most of the 6 hours talking and not working so his actual working rate was more like $160 per hour. To top it off, the bathroom sink facet is now dripping and it hasn't been a month since he did the work. I should make him come back and fix it but I do not want him in my house.
