I called the company from the sticker left from the previous home owner. I spoke to Justin who was very helpful and he scheduled us for the following day. The technician was nice enough and he completed the job very nicely and left. The problem began when he did not give me an invoice. The technician stated that his "office manager" was not in and that I would be sent the bill. When the bill arrived I noticed that the price was $100 above the "usual rate" given to me by Justin and that there was no itemization for parts and labor and the total happened to be $299. I called Justin and asked for another itemized bill since it was such a deviation from my original estimate of $200. Justin apologized and assured me that he would forward an itemized bill. A few hours later I received a call from the "office manager". She immediately started being rude. She asked me what "right I had to ask for an itemized bill". I calmly told her that an itemized bill is the standard for any trade. She proceeded to tell me that no other trade would give me an itemized bill!! She continued ranting and raving. At some point she accused me of wanting an itemized bill simply because she is a woman! At this point I realized that you can't argue with crazy. I stated that she is welcome to the $299 and that I would call another company from now on for my garage door. Their actual work was fine, but my guess is that the "office manager" made up the $299 which is on the high end for replacing two torsion springs.
