Paul DeBolt, from Chief/Bauer, did a great job on the maintenance of my water heater. When I asked if I could watch and have him explain the steps, Paul had no problems. He left my utility room completely spotless. Next time I have a plumbing issue, I'll definitely ask for Paul.

Brian Mengarelli who works for Chief Bauer was working in my neighborhood and he was very professional and answered questions for me and wasn’t even taking care of my house. We needed our furnace, water heater & ac unit replaced. Our furnace went out on a Thursday night, Friday morning we called Chief Bauer & Jeff came out a few hours later. (Which NEVER happens, we were expecting someone to come out the following week) Jeff was professional, friendly & very informative. Jeff listened to our concerns & after assessing the current status of our furnace, water heater, ac unit, he sat down with us to go over our options. Early the following Monday morning the Chief Bauer technicians, Cj, Seth, Jeremy & Doug arrived. They immediately started working on removing the ancient furnace, ac unit & water heater. It wasn’t long until the new ac unit & water heater was installed. The furnace, which my husband & I renamed The Dinosaur, needed a little more coaxing. Our home was originally built in 1870, my husband & I always joked that our furnace came shortly after the house was built. After almost 9 hours, our new furnace was up & running! The time to remove the Dinosaur, happened quicker than my husband & I could have ever hoped for. For as long as we’ve lived in this home, we’ve never had a technician stay the entire time to complete a job, if they ran into an issue past technicians would leave & say they had to order a new part, &/or leave & come back a day or two later with help. Long story short...we’re beyond thrilled with our experience with Chief Bauer, Jeff, Cj, Seth, Jeremy & Doug. We went with the Advantage Program, which covers all maintenance, replacement of filters, 24/7 emergency service, repairs, etc. for our Lennox furnace/ ac unit & water heater.

We have been really happy with them. Becuase of the plus plan, they are guaranteed to come out within a certain amount of time if something breaks. But even before we had that we did have our air conditioner break one year and they came right out.  They are always very punctual and they always someone calls to tell us they will be here in 10 minutes. They only time they have ever run into an issue when the previous appointment ran long. They called several times to let me know the timeline and then they comped me an extra visit to make up for it. They are quite good at that. They always put the little bootie covers on before they come in the house.

1) Clerical error had rep going to wrong address thus missed scheduled appointment time. Eventually connected, but the bid was several thousand dollars higher than another contractor that got hired. 2) The job performed was ok, even though the technician did not have replacement filter for one of the units, I still felt the service charge was high. Probably can be attributed to big company = large overhead = higher fees

Everything went so well, from the first technician (JC) who came out, all the way through to the young men who did the installation. Through every step, I felt like I had family in the house doing a chore for me. They were polite, they cleaned up after themselves, they were courteous. I couldn't have asked for a more pleasant experience for what could have been a very desperate time. And perfect timing, as the furnace was installed just hours before a winter storm was due to roll through!

This house is less than ten years old and we were kinda shock that they claim and we need air conditioner. We have a contract so that they service our furnace and our air conditioner once a year and when they were servicing the air conditioner they convince us we needed a new air conditioner. Good because we have used them for several years.

They charge $200 for a year. They check it on the Spring and Fall for the AC and furnace. The quality is good. They're pretty quick to respond and they take care of things. They're fine. They should lower their prices. I think their prices are high.

When we found a pool of water around our A/C system on a Friday night, we looked for someone who provided weekend service. We were able to talk to someone late Friday night and got a technician scheduled to come out Saturday morning. The technician arrived on time and told us our controller board had been ruined by the water and that the probable cause of the leakage was a loss of coolant in the outdoor part of the system. He did not have the proper equipment on his truck to check the compressor for leakage, so that would have to be done later. Also, the board we needed was for an older unit and he couldn't find out until Monday when that might be available. So we had a hot weekend without A/C.
   On Monday we got a call that a board had been located and the technician returned and installed the new board.  Then he added coolant to the outdoor unit, without testing for a leak, as he still did not have the proper equipment and it was pretty dark outside by the time he could have tested.  The technician said it was probably a slow leak and he was saving us money by not testing. We turned the system back on from the thermostat and it worked. 
   Two days later we noticed that we had a new pool of water around the A/C system.  So once again we turned off the A/C to prevent damage to the finished basement.  We called again and the next morning a different technician came out and said it was probably a cracked pan, which would cost an additional $1,500 to repair.  At that point, we decided to get quotes on a new unit before proceeding with any more expensive repairs, as we had already paid over $1,200 at that point.
   Chief Bauer was one of the companies from which we got bids, and on their bid they did give us credit for what we had paid for repairs on the old unit, but even with the credit, their bid was more than either of the other two bidders.
