Auto Service
Good, timely repair. They were scrupulous about fixing only what was necessary and being up front about what could wait for later. High price for the work, but overall may be offset by the fact they will likely be clear and honest about what work is unnecessary. A bit rushed when communicating via phone - much better interaction in person.

Auto Service, Auto Tires
It's very convenient to me I can drop the car off in a walk. He just did all the service procedures I gave him and there is a squeaky tire or squeaky wheel and he look at that as well. He's a great guy and he does solid work at reasonable prices. He's very accommodating and convenient and doesn't treat like an idiot which is all too common at auto places. He's very honest and not a desperate need to create business. He has more business than he can handle. One of the things he did on our previous car is we had a computer and he lock, break the computer. The light came on and it turned out after he did a bunch of work but it was the computer that was faulty and he doesn't do that work but he has sort of an agreement where he can outsource that to a local garage that he trust that has the basically the fancier computer they can integrate with that. They work at that and then basically it was like having the computer off just means that you don't have the anti lock break part you still have functioning breaks and everything and it's like a thousand dollars to fix. We didn't end up doing the service but we would happily had Joe do the service if that had been the right decision at the time for us. We haven't had transmission done.

I had just moved here and my car refused to start. I had no regular mechanic yet and needed help ASAP. Joe got me in right away and replaced the battery. He also looked over the car and pointed out some issues with my tires, which I'd forgotten were at end-of-life. He priced out some alternatives and gave me helpful pros and cons of each option. Along with the tires, Joe noticed two of my tire covers were broken and he hunted down replacements for a very reasonable price. We will definitely go back to Joe!

Joe is a good mechanic. He tells you straight forward what is going on with your car and what's wrong with it. My only thing with him is that he doesn't go above and beyond, he is just average. After getting my clutch plate replaced, a month later, there was a crack in one of the hydraulic pedals and fluid leaked out so I was unable to use my clutch. At first I was outraged that this happened, since my clutch had just been replaced, but this was a pedal problem and not near the transmission. I understood and paid, BUT I would have appreciated it if he checked that out when he was working on my clutch in the first place. Also, a check engine light came on after his work was done, he told me what it was (O2 sensor) but was going to charge me for turning it off ... something that again could have been done when he was already in there. He's just average ... but good at what he does.

I had been having some issues with my 2002 Ford Escort. With a 130,000 miles on it, I had been told by a another car place that I needed a new transmission. When I took it to Average Joe Auto Repair they were honest and up front about what was really wrong with my car. During the test drive they explained what they thought the problems could be. After the test drive they popped the hood and showed me the mechanical areas that needed work. Work was completed quickly and for an acceptable price.
