 + -1 moreTv Repair people are a dying breed, so Bill Ferguson of Ferguson TV & Satellite is a rare find. My 5-yr. old TV/DVD combo set wouldn't turn on one morning and I just wanted to know how much it would cost to fix it. After searching Angie's List, the Internet and the phone book, I decided to give Ferguson a try because it was on the East side of the river, where I live. Mr. Ferguson has been fixing TV's since he was 17 (more than 50 years experience) and he's up on the latest technology. In my case, Mr. Ferguson earned every penny of the $30 charge because my TV, as it turned out, had more than one part that had gone bad. He determined that he could fix it, but that it would be cost-prohibitive. So I can't add much more to my experience regarding the quality of Mr. Ferguson's work, except that Mr. Ferguson was professional, very knowledgeable and also very honest and straight-forward in his assessment, and that was exactly what I was looking for. There were a couple of refurbished TV's in the Ferguson repair shop that he had for sale and they worked beautifully -- perfect testaments to Mr. Ferguson's experience and knowledge of TV repair. I would highly recommend Ferguson TV to anyone who would be interested in repairing a TV for less than what a new one would cost, or who might be looking for a great deal on a refurbished TV to purchase.
Description of Work: Bill Ferguson has over 50 years of TV repair experience. There is a $30 charge right at the start which becomes part of the payment toward the cost of the repair itself. However, if you choose not to go ahead with the repair or if your TV cannot be repaired, the money goes toward time spent (similar to a service call at your home). The man works for his money - It may not be a question of whether or not it can be fixed, but whether or not it should be fixed.
