Casa Decorating

Looked pretty good... at first. Then, in about 6 or 7 months we noticed re-cracking in living room and kitchen, as well as caulking in bathrooms. Thereafter, outside, our deck showed peeled paint, down to the bare surfaces, as well as poor repairs on existing & replaced wood surfaces; some paint on at least one electrical receptacle. Casa owner went to Florida for the winter & when I contacted him, he told me that he "... experiences paint & seam cracking at his own house and that it is to be expected. As of this May, 2020, no callback. We contracted for this work in late June, 2019 and paid in two installments: July 5, 2019 and July 12, 2019, when the job was supposedly finished. Obviously, with the deck, we expected some wear, but in almost 28 years, we have never had our deck deteriorate so badly and the inside repairs should have lasted much longer, but... not even one year?! We hate to complain, but we consider this to be very shoddy work. Additional repainting on our outside windows was done, pretty much to our satisfaction. We feel that Casa's owner is more of a salesman, than a worker on the project. His worker was mainly one man, with a second who was not much in attendance. We would never rehire this company, even though it has been around for many years.

 Let me start out by complimenting Mark and his assistant on doing a very good job on the deck. Fair price. Done promptly. The issue I had was with Mark intentionally spraying my cedar fence with deck paint without my consent. When I asked why he did that, he said in order to show what it looks like painted. I told him I don't want it painted, and that I prefer the weathered look. He told me not to worry & that it will wash off in time. Hmm..Okay....let's see....we have had a record rain this year and not surprisingly the paint remains on the fence today. I texted Mark letting him know of my unhappiness with my cedar fence with the deck paint still on it and my desire to have him remove it. Within the hour on this Sunday, Mark was at my door to talk (once again-very prompt). We went in the back to look at the section of painted fence. I informed him that I am upset with his unauthorized painting of my fence and the lack of it washing off as he suggested it would. He said he could power wash it off where the section is that he painted, but I told him that that would significantly lighten that section of the fence and make that section look very different than the rest of the fence. So, I asked him to power wash the entire fence and correct his unsolicited "graffiti". He refused to own up to his mistake and quickly walked away and drove off. As you can see in the photo, Casa Decorating's paint job remains on my fence today...very disappointing. I hope you have better luck with him than I did and be careful of the upsell...
