From a construction point of view I think the quality of the job was very good. The tear down went quickly and the debris was neatly piled in 2 areas of my side yard. Tyvek was properly installed and once the cedar material arrived from the lumber yard (pre-primed), it was installed promptly. Ultimate Construction asked if they could store their tools in my garage overnight to not have to pack it all up in their trucks every night and I agreed. My issues with this job were more business related. I received a quote promptly after a visit to my home to view the job and measure. The quote was inline with 3 others that I received. When Ultimate Construction came to my house to sign the contract, I was informed that a mistake was made on the pricing of the cedar within the quote but they would honor what was quoted. Three days later, I receive an email stating that there was good news and the cedar siding would be $534 cheaper and I should deduct that number from the proposal. When I received the final bill, it was mostly correct (+$280 for extra plywood replacement), but the $534 was not deducted. I questioned and went back and forth with Ultimate Construction, even laying out a time line of details with their own emails to me. Ultimate Construction, offered to remove the $280 in extra plywood material cost, but not the $534, essentially asking to "split the difference" in the disputed amount. At this point I reluctantly accepted because I have better ways to spend my time. I realized that I was getting nowhere and Ultimate Construction was not going to admit a mistake in their bill. I want to be able to recommend this company. Their quality of work is very good, but professionalism is part of the job also.

Ted returned our call quickly and came around to give an estimate. He said that he would be at our home at 8am and on the stroke of 8 he was there. He was very reasonable with his prices and was able to explain the specific selection of windows along with the advantages and disadvantages. The installation was scheduled as soon as the windows were available, and the installers were on time. They cleaned up any mess. The work done by Ted is outstanding. We will recommend Ted to anyone. Great work, we need people like that.
