They do a lot of work for me. Their pricing is a little high. They have several trades that work under them. So if I need an electrician, if I need a plumber, I can get. Because it's called Home Services, they have several people that work there connected with them. So I'm able to get everything done under one company.

I found them a little bit pricey. The worst part is the price. The best, I would say, it appeared to be a quality of work. Just for the price they charged me, I would have liked to have seen them repair the drywall as well. If they would have repaired the drywall in addition to what they made or had someone come out to repair the drywall, I believe it would have justified the price a little bit better. They said the repair wouldn't have been included with the price.

They are pretty good. I thought it was a little bit too pricy but that was in a bind. I know the capacitor is like a $30 part and essentially, the cost was about $400 for essentially 45 minutes of work.

Amy was super punctual and were focused on upselling $1300-$5,000 for plumbing I do not need. Their price to remove the hot water heater and re-route/cap 3 easily accessible copper pipes and cap a gas pipe was more than I paid for my last water heater purchase including installation. These guys are super expensive. I'm sure they would do good work, but the price is ridiculously high. I'm sure most people go ahead with the work with Amy b/c you have to pay a $79 service fee that is NOT deducted from the work that is performed.
Response from Amy Home Services

"Customer has two 75 gallon water heaters tied together. We offered a price to remove the leaking one as he requested, replace the tank, and two tankless options so he could get rid of both. Unfortunately it's more than just capping a few copper lines. The hot and cold would have reworked to be up to code. This also included hauling away the old tank. Any other reputable 24hr company with licensed plumbers would be very close in price. We will never be the cheapest but with always provide the best quality service and installations. As he stated he was given prices upfront and decided not to go ahead with the work. I feel an F is not a fair rating for offering our price. But our other reviews do show the type of service we provide. Thank you."

Two technicians showed up promptly at 8am. They removed the old (18 yrs old) equipment and installed new duct work and both units. It was a nice day so the AC was able to be fully charged so that we could use either system in the unpredictable Fall weather. They were very personable and the workmanship was excellent.

Justin was the repair technician and he was very professional and punctual.  I called them and they came out the same day to look at our A/C unit, since it wasn't blowing cold air anymore.  Justin gave us the full sales speal with you need a new air conditioner and heat exchanger and while your at it you should replace the furnace.  Ok enough of that, but we did want our A/C repaired, so he gave us a price for getting the system back up and running.  This included the monthly fee or the flat repair fee.  We went with the flat fee and it was just under $800 for a starter, capacitor and starter kit, which to me is way over priced.  He did a great job replacing the parts in the rain and now the system runs much better.  I still can't recommend using this company, just because of the high pressure to join the monthly membership and the high price of parts.

The good. They came the same day I called. The bad; ???? They had a membership program where you pay a monthly fee to have a free A/C and furnace tuneup twice a year and a $15 service fee should they need to come out.? My A/C failed so I asked to have them repair it and do the 'free tuneup'.? They fixed it, saying I had a lose wire at the furnace, (quite possible as I hooked up the thermostat and dorked with the wires).? They charged me 200.00 to reattach the wire, but then did my 'free A/C' tuneup.? (I know that attaching the wire took 2 minutes, but testing the voltage took him 10 minutes, $200 seemed excessive for less than 20 minutes of work? with the tune up that was supposed to be free -he claimed to have done that but I don't believe him.? A/C worked that day.?? The next time I turned it on, 16 days later, it did not work, so I called them back expecting not to be charged since it wasn't done properly.?? He told me the work was covered for 30 days, but that was not on the contract he emailed me.? (You sign on his tablet but you don't see the form when you are signing it, the signature page take up the entire screen). The ugly; ?? When I called to have them come back out, I asked if there would be a charge since I had the work done 16 days earlier.? The office person would not say.? When he came out, he told me that if it was something he had done, it would be free, but if it was a new problem, it would be the $15 fee.? He came back in? holding a part, saying I had a bad dual capacitor.? I'm not even sure it was my part, he could have taken that off his truck.? (Shouldn't this have been noticed by my 'free' A/C tuneup 16 days earlier??).? I asked the cost of the part, he wouldn't tell me - said normally they charge 370.00 to replace it, but he would do it for $177 today if he didn't have to come back out, no labor.? I asked, 'that's the cost of the part, with no labor'?? He Said it was a flat fee, he backtracked a lot, but he didn't really explain how he came to that 'flat fee'.? It felt very arbitrary to me.? I asked why he didn't see that during my free A/C tuneup, he said that it was fine 16 days ago. (I hadn't used the A/C in the past 16 days, so it couldn't have changed from working to non-working).? He insisted it was the capacitor and the work done would have a 2 year guarantee.? I begrudgingly agreed, but my gut told me I was being had.? As he went outdoors , I googled the part.? It ranged from $ 8- 28.00 only.? When I questioned him on that, he retracted his earlier statement saying that he never said that he wasn't charging me labor.?? Then he gave me a big story about how the company has expenses, and that they can't stay in business without charging a fair price.? I told him it didn't seem like a fair price.? So, he charged me nearly $400 to fix a wire and replace a capacitor.? That is obscene.? (When he originally came out, he tried to tell me that a new A/C would be $4500!? I will never call this company again.? It should have been repaired properly the first time he ripped me off. ???

We had excellent service. We thought we were just going to sit down and find out about replacing one, but it turned out that we ended up buying one that day. We had a very good technician come out that day. They happened to have a new one in their truck, and they were very good, that we just did the job. It was a weekend and he was here a couple of hours at least, and he finished the job with a great attitude. We would use them again because of their good service.

$650
I called them out to a small rental house I own because the furnace had completely stopped working. They checked it out and said it needed a new circuit board for about $650. It seemed like a lot so I asked them to break down the charges. They said they have one price quoting which guarantees a price for a client , instead of an estimate in which the client can not be sure of the cost to fix. Frankly, I thought it was a way to pump up the prices and was a bit frustrated. I told him so and that I would get a second and third quote. Later, I called around several different companies and they indicated that the estimate I received was in line with market rates.? I have several different rental houses and rarely ask for a 2nd quote. I just couldn't get past the "all in" ?price quote.? ?I wound up going with Amy. When the tech was there , he called me to say the inducer motor was also failing and that it is quite expensive to repair. I asked him if it was included with a one price fix pledge. He called his boss and they said they would honor it and do it at the same price.? I don't normally chisel down rates of service providers. However, I have always viewed the one price stuff as being a rip off so I decided to test it.? After getting a bigger job done for the same price, I became sold on the concept and Amy Home Service for sticking to their word.

So the bottom line here is that after the second time they came out (same personnel, by the way), the problem came back and we still had issues with water backing up.  A friend told us to call around to different plumbers and specifically ask for someone with some tenure in the business.  (The words used by friends were, "find and old-timer".)  So that's what I did.
When the company that I chose in the "old timer" category came out, they said that there was NO WAY that the Amy plumber went all the way from the house to the street with his rodding, because he himself did so, and found that the trees at the street had compromised our pipes, and that the the roots in the pipe were still all in tact.  In fact, when he put a camera down there, he showed me as much.  Seeing is believing.
My problem took thousands more to fix, but I could have saved myself $2000 by NOT using Amy in the first place.

Response from Amy Home Services

"We are sorry that your sewer was unfortunately in bad shape and needed replacement. Since your home had no cleanout and the toilet had to be removed to access the line, rodding can only do so much. Upon the second visit we did perform a camera of the line for you and let you know that it had root intrustions and a large belly that was holding the pipe half full of sludge (As stated on invoice 114073). With both toilet pull and resets, sewer line roddings, and the camera your price was below $1400. So im not sure where you came to the $2000.00. As Brad also let you know there would have been a 25% to 50% credit back of that work had a dig job been required like we had mentioned. We are sorry you had to dig up your yard but hope we can resolve this for you. We have been in business for 30 years. We are the best of the best in plumbing, heating, air conditioning and electrical."
