RECON SOLUTIONS INC scammed me!!! In Aug 2018 my FARMERS INS claim reps “referred” me to RECON as one of their “preferred contractors" to handle my water damage claim. RECON — (1) Did not get required building permits for me $26,713 repair work. ( 2) Undervalued my replacement quality resulting in higher out-of-pocket cost. Allowed their incompetent subcontractor to botch thru work list projects despite my complaints, finally firing him after he intimidated me, & then sent “real” employees to patch up the poor workmanship. (3) Lied about quality floor installer & had electrician and painter incorrectly glue wood planks directly to concrete voiding the warranty (some are now popped-out trip hazards). Tried to cheat me with $1751 false/duplicate line items on my out-of-pocket invoice for non-insurance upon with RECON padded the same & other false charges to my insurance-claim invoice. This ongoing resolution has been a lot of back & forth that included me filing a consumer complaint with the ILLINOIS ATTORNEY GENERAL OFFICE. So far RECON has: — forfeited entitlement to the $6,512.96 insurance payment portion for its faulty wood flooring installation — refunded $700 of my out-of-pocket purchase of ceramic floor tiles related to the botched wood flooring installation — returned my $623.49 overpayment from the insurance claim settlement for fraudulent line items padded into the invoice These unresolved issues have to be pursued thru small claims court: — Electrical Work: above-sink light fixture flashes and questionable rangehood-to-vent connection — Ceramic Floor Tiles: dried grout/footprints & surface coating stripped in botched cleanup attempt — Carpentry Repairs: cabinet wall panels damaged in attempt to thread extension cord through holes instead of installing electrical outlet — Kitchen Sink Base Cabinets: unaddressed mold regrowth—did not cleanup the mold before rebuilding in that area

As we stated in our first review of A Recon project, there IS NO REASON to consider another contractor for a home remodeling project. The company and the people get it.

The work was done well, the master bathroom and adjoining master bedroom stayed spotless during the project. Recon's workmen were on time, worked hard, kept us informed of their progress, and delivered a project that the other contractor can only talk about attempting. The high-end finishes from fit perfectly with the other elements of this space and with the home in total.

We will use recon again for other projects and are pleased to be a reference for them.

Our ice maker line broke on the same day we bought this house and our kitchen was destroyed. We had our home mitigated to avoid any additional damages. Being first time home buyers, we did not know what to do next. We received a referral for this company. During the estimating process it was apparent that this company listened to what you wanted. They took the time to answer any questions that you had. The repairs were great! They were clean and organized. If you were home, they let you know if they were leaving for the day or just running an errand to keep you updated on the process. We insisted on using our own flooring guy to install new hardwood floors and they coordinated that with them. They went above and beyond for us multiple times to make sure we were extremely satisfied with the work. If we had questions, we could reach our project manager all the time. During the repair process, our air conditioner broke on one of the hottest days of the summer. They made a phone call and we had a new air conditioner right away.
We have already begun conversations with them about the next home improvement project. We wouldn't look anywhere else. We are grateful for Keith, Terry, Ziggy, Martin, Jerry and Mitch for making our first home gorgeous and making this process as easy as possible!

ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIC!
We've never, ever seen a project so well executed by a contractor and subs. No project is ever perfect, there are always bumps, but this one comes about as close as any project is going to get.
Keith, Derrick, Ziggy, Martin worked hard, they listened, they did what they said they would do, they were on time, subs showed up when they were scheduled and our house could not have stayed cleaner during the project. The finish detail and overall workmanship and care was about as perfect as we've seen or experienced.
We would have rated the business and the project higher than "A's" if there was the opportunity to do so.
There is no reason to even consider looking at another home repair/home remodeling/renovation company.

Recon Solutions, Inc. , via Keith Witkowski, Project Manager and Dan Rocha, Production Manager, arranged to have my unit restored. This company was sensational! They made all of the arrangements and made certain everything went smoothly, from the painting to the installation of some electrical work. They are a terrific general contractor and I recommend them highly, especially if you have severe damage to your home. They are a concerned, knowledgeable, overly competent group of people and they really care about their customers. Hire them - you won't be sorry!
