It's pretty consistent. Maybe they've upgraded their plant or something, but we haven't had any real issues in a couple of years now. So, you can't complain about something that works. They're pretty responsive. I have no choice. They're the only provider here. They could upgrade their customer service. When you try and get hold of them on the phone, you go through all these prompts for 10 minutes and then end up talking to the wrong person. They pretty much send the same technician every time. He has been with the company for a while. He is very knowledgeable and explains things. So, I have no problems with him.

My internet went out and my phone went out it took them two weeks to get the service done out here to fix that. I only got till two weeks because I told them I was cancelling and the cancellation got under earlier slot to get our service guy out, would have been longer and they just sat and done nothing. So there service sucks. I'd tell you if you want response day after you need to get their professional internet service. I was not happy with that. I would use this provider only if I absolutely have to.

I get high speed internet and the modem is free. If it goes bad they replace it as part of the package. We do have issues when the computers goes down but they try to resolve it. We paid over 50$ for the television and we were not getting quality programs. The commercials last longer than the show. The quality of programming is lacking.

Horrible, inhumane corporate policy. Sister pleaded with them to waive the fee. They refused. She has had ongoing poor service from this company, but it is beyond belief that they would refuse to assist a now homeless victim. All other utilities were kind and helpful.
Description of Work: Took advantage of fire victim. Sister's house total loss in fire last night, pets dead, very little insurance. Just escaped with the clothes on her back. Her entire life is gone. Mediacom told her today they would be billing her $1039 dollars for loss of cable box. She begged for an exception, Mediacom refused.

Technician stopped out a day later, got me all hooked up, very professional (he wore footies when going from outside to inside). He very politely tried to upsell again but very low key, no pressure. Even used my 10+ year old cable modem, worked just fine. Left me his phone number and name in case I had any issues over next few days. Didn't need to call. Works like a charm! Ran a spped test while writing this, am getting 13.5Mbps download and 1.1Mbps upload. Sweet! Have had only one internet service outages but it was due to a huge DNS issue in the midwest, not some local hardware issues. My only wish is that internet service providers would allow a person to sign up for text messages during service outages (and only service interuptions). Maybe some do but would be nice to get a text message with a heads up and an ETA for recovery time estimate. Beats hauling equipment to basement to test... But only one time in six months, I can live with that.
Description of Work: Needed high-speed internet when we moved to Chillicothe. Had checked/shopped around before move and decided on Mediacom. Thought their online deals were pretty good. On website clicked to sign up and they insisted on having a rep call me back. Glad they did! They got me an even better rate ($9.95/month for 6 months, $19.95/month after that). Of course they tried to upsell me on cable TV and phone. I declined and they didn't push hard.

I think I told it already-terrible customer service. They don't keep track of your phone calls-so it is always you said/they said. I tried to get a work order number for reference or at least the name of the last employee so when I have to call back-and I am sure I will-I would have something of proof-but they don't give you a service number or the name of who you are talking to.
Description of Work: The set up of cable went fine-2 hours later, however we had no premium channel servuce or on demand service. They tried to fix it by phone-I spent an entire day of vacation between making calls and trying to get service. They finally said they would have to send a tech out but not for 3 days could they get me an appointment. By that time I was back at work and not able to get to my summer place (where we have the mediacom service) for a month. So I called a week ahead of time to schedule an appt. twice they have cancled the appt. by leaving a message saying that other people are having trouble and they are working on it. I had to go through the long proces of phoning/getting through all the non-person stuff which takes about 10 minutes each time. Today they canceled my appt again and said they could not get a tech out for 3 more days-so here I am paying for service that I don't have----I have to call someone else to get that adjusted.

When I have service problems, I schedule my appointment. I get the usual 4 hour window, but they never show up nor do they call to let me know they are showing up. I do not feel they are not servicing their customers very well.
Description of Work: I have my cable service with them.
