LOWE'S

Overall, we had a less than satisfactory experience in buying a toilet and having it installed through Lowes in Carol Stream. 

After researching toilets on line, we went to Lowes to compare the options available.  Numerous times we mentioned our preferences to the salesman, especially the color.

In response, the salesman stated that colors can usually cost up to $100 more than white.  However, he indicated that Lowes had one model of Kohler toilets (bisque colored) in stock that would cost the same as white.  For this reason, we decided to buy this Kohler toilet from Lowes.

He wrote up the order but unfortunately with the wrong model number.  So when the toilet was delivered, it was white?not bisque. 

Since we had paid for something that we were promised but did not get, we wanted it corrected.  However, Lowes indicated that we would actually have to pay extra for the bisque color to have it installed.

After much persistence, we made the case that we had not received what we had paid for.  The bisque colored toilet eventually arrived and was installed by Blue Water (Lowes? installer) but not without even more frustration.  The installer from Blue Water didn?t do the job right and failed to correct it when he returned for the second time.  Finally, Blue Water sent a different installer who made it right.

We must acknowledge that there were several Lowes employees who were empathetic, apologized for the inconvenience, facilitated a successful outcome and followed up to make sure we were satisfied.

Scheduling was a bit tough, but I finally connected with the designer.  On the day of the appointment, it went well.  But she never sent the written quote or followed up with me.  I tried sending an email, but no response.  I liked several of the items but wonder if my refusal to buy Kohler toilets was a loosing point for me.  Too bad as I wanted to spend money at that store, but looks like I'll buy elsewhere.

This store has really great staff. they help me find a great toilet for a really great price.

Salesperson: Ricky really knows his stuff. Professional and extremely knowledgeable. A definite asset to Lowes.

Installer: Neal, I can't say more about this contractor. Came highly recommended and boy are they right! From the measurement to the final installation, Neal was so nice, professional and clearly a master of his craft. Answered any questions that we had and made us feel very comfortable throughout the whole process.

The installer arrived on time. He worked quickly and installed the door properly. We're very happy with the service.

The people at the store took a little while, but once the job got turned over to the installers, everything went very quickly and smoothly. They did a very good job.

They removed and disposed of the old door. They kept the appointment they had set up, and they did a pretty good.

It went very well. They did a good job. They did a good job of coming and out and measuring the door. They had to do some custom carpentry and it was good. I was very happy with the job they did.
