We used Home Depot for carpet & storm door replacement. We live out of state, drove to IL for the carpet install. HD failed to record correctly where we wanted carpet and so did not measure right, so installers did not have enough carpet. They need to order more, then schedule a new install, for which someone has to be present. HD refuses to expedite shipping. When I spoke with salespeople, it sounded like we probably would not need to be present for storm door installation, which they said is usually in about 1 week. False: We (or representative) do have to be there, and they couldn't fit us in for installation until a full 2 weeks. Manager acted like he would try to help, referred us to a customer service specialist. She apologized that I was upset, not that HD erred and misled us. The most I could get was her talking to a manager about possibly giving us a small discount. This will not make up for waiting additional weeks to sell property and potentially traveling to IL again. *Update: After I posted reviews, Home Depot did reach out to me and agreed to expedite the shipping of the carpet, which allows the missed portion to be installed in about a week. They also gave us a more significant discount on the carpet. We may still have to wait on the storm door installation (unless someone else cancels), but we appreciate these efforts to make things right.*

The gentleman did a very good job, arrived on time, and acted professionally at all times.  However, he was rather slow, and it took him about two days to complete all of the work.

It was very easy to choose the door through them. It was easy to make arrangements with them. We had to wait up to four to six weeks. The workers were very rude when they were working.

Nightmare. After paying the full cost up front to place the order with Home Depot, it took seven weeks from the time the order was placed to the installation date. A week after the order was placed, Home Depot told us the carpeting would be available the following week. Because of a back order situation with the manufacturer, it actually took an additional month. Each week, Home Depot called us to tell us it was on back order. The day of the install, the installer told us that the carpeting was too short for the space (which Home Depot said was our fault and was not going to replace for us). The installer then discovered there was a defect in the carpeting, so the seams would not be straight! After a heated discussion with HD, they agreed to replace the carpeting. Four weeks later, the replacement carpeting arrived, and GS Floor (contracter to Home Depot) installed it. GS Floor was very professional and completed the job as planned. We will never use Home Depot again as a contracting service. They are the middle man and do not add any value to the process.
