 + -1 moreRight before Christmas, our automatic garage door opener closed on a plastic garbage can. Because the can was flexible, the sensor did not stop the opener, and the door eventually went off the track, bending the track in some places. Our home warranty company sent Shawnee Electric to have a look at the problem, at an initial cost to us of $60.00. The serviceman said that the home warranty company would not pay for the repairs, but that SE could fix the door for $200-300. He said he would come back in a week. Three weeks later and two phone calls, he had still not returned. Finally, the repairman showed up, and spent several hours in the garage. In the end, the garage door was repaired, and the cost was $125.00.
Description of Work: Shawnee Electric usually works on garage door openers, not garage doors, and this serviceman ended up straightening out the tracks, and parts of the frame as well as recoiling the cable tension rod and spring. (my husband tells me this is the important thing.) It took them a long time to come back to do the repairs, but once they came, they did a good job, at less than half the quoted price.
