J2J Painting

Found him on craigslist and had him do the basement of the home and that went well.  Hired him in March 2013 to paint the outside of home and he did not start until June.  Came immediately to power wash the house and then did not show up for 3 weeks without any phone call as for an explanation why.  His cell phone did not work so there was no way to get a hold of him.  He finally called back with an explanation and he came to start the scraping.  Scraped for a few days and then would not show up for days without a phone call.  Finally after a talk, we asked multiple times just for him to send a text or 1 minute phone call saying he would not be there.  That only  happened a couple of times.  When he showed up a few times, he made promises that a certain amount of work would be done and when the promises kept being broken, he could not handle being yelled at by the customer.  Can not handle real world situations where if break promises and are getting paid for work, you'll get yelled at a customer and tell you that you are being disrespectful.  Guess he's never worked in a real job with real paying customers where this happens all the time.  Finally after finishing scraping and painting an equivalent of one side of the house, we come home to all of his ladders gone and never heard from again.  He also had the audacity to ask for payments during this work. 
Warnings...if you choose to work with this guy.  Only pay for the materials and don't pay him until the work is completed or you will get ripped off like we did. 
Lastly some quality reviews from all of the new painters we had come in to rebid our project, all 7 painters were completly shocked by the poor quality of work and not choosing to prime the house even though a paint and primer in one was being used.
