Safeguard General Contracting Inc

We contracted Safeguard Construction Inc. in Springfield, Il remove your tub/shower combo and install a walk-in shower. The process of choosing Safeguard and the actual work was very smooth. Our experiences with them before, during and after our shower replacement was all we expected plus more. Starting with the management team of Dean and Chris on to the working with their carpenters Scott and Brownie and their lead plumber Clint. We are very pleased with their attention to detail, respect for our home and to us. We highly recommend this Safeguard Construction Company.

I was very impressed with the knowledge,workmanship,and superb quality of everything. Every employee that was here was very personable and concerned that we were satisfied with everything we asked for. Chris, the contractor worked with us and let us do what we could ourselves to keep costs down. Awesome company,Awesome crew! I would |recommend them to anyone! They took a old,horrible looking kitchen and made it beautiful. I love it!

It did not go well AT ALL.  The whole lower level of my house was torn up for 6 weeks!  The owner/contractor, Chris Mikus, never came back  after the first day of the job.  I contacted him 3 weeks later, and he said he would get back to me.  No contact for ANOTHER 2 weeks, until I finally contacted him AGAIN.  At that point, he told me the cost to finish the job would be $1350 MORE than the original contract of about $1650.  At that point, I had already paid $545 before the job began, and felt I had no choice but to let him finish the job, since my house was in such a mess for so long.

I warn all property owners in the Springfield, IL area to not use Chris Mikus with Safeguard General Contracting, Inc.
