Vostry's Tree Care

I have used Vostry's Tree Care. I think his price is fair when compared to other quotes that I have got. I guess his price is reasonable. My issue with them is that he is an older gentleman and I don't know what the deal is but we have a Crab Apple that he was treating and I don't think that he treated it in a timely fashion so therefore we have a tree now that almost has no leaves and it shouldn't be that way, you have to time it for the spring. We have a Ash tree in our yard, all ash trees have emerald ash for and I had to contact him several times to ask him about coming out to treat that. He was treating it and I had to have him come out several times to treat that. I had to contact them several times to come out and treat that before I got a response saying that 'I will come out and treat that in September' which he did. I had asked him before he treated it if he would look at the tree because I feel like it is sick and I don't know if it was worth continuing the treatment or if we should cut it down and he never did that. I had to contact him a bunch of times to get a response. When he sent the bills for the Crab Apple tree, I wrote on there 'Please contact me about the emerald ash tree and I would like you to come out and look at it and tell me if it was worth treating it or not' he didn't respond. I left 2 phone messages and finally I got a response. I wasn't home when he called and he said 'I will come out in September to treat it'. No response to the request to tell me if it was worth treating it or not and then he just went and treated it. It is a lot of money, trees are a lot of money. I am investing and caring for them but if a tree is sick, I don't want to keep treating it if it is not worth it, if the tree is not going to make it. I had another one come out last week and tell me that there is only a 50% chance that the tree is going to survive. You can tell by looking at it. This guy already came out and treated my tree so I could not save the dollars because he came and did the service. I didn't cancel the service so I guess he just did it. He said he was going to come out in September so I thought that he would come out and contact me and then we would discuss if the tree should be treated and he didn't. He just treated it. It was hard to get a response from him.

Excellent results

We chose Chuck Vostry to do a preventive treatment to our large parkway ash tree against the emerald ash borer.
My husband reviewed three other companies. Mr. Vostry uses the Tree-age(arborjet) insecticide which had been recommended by Morton's Arboretum.. He was able to inject the insecticide that very week, which was important to us.
He explained the whats and whys of the treatment. He was prompt and provided us with helpful tips for us to do in our fight to save our ash tree.

They were excellent. They removed the fungus and it worked out just great. They saved our crab apple tree.

After slight delay in returning my call the work was completed as scheduled and the results have been very good to date. The leaves are turning from yellow back to green.

I have always found it easy to work with Chuck. If I have a question, I can usually reach him immediately or within a couple of hours. If work needs to be done, he is very responsible about following through. For example, the treatment for the magnolia will take a couple months to run its course due to the life cycle of the insects. I may give Chuck a call in a couple of weeks just to check that what I'm seeing on the tree is the expected result at this point in the treatment.

He is very competent. Everything went very well.

The company did an OK job, but nothing spectacular. There isn t anything that I like or dislike particularly about this company and their service people. They are pretty average overall.
