Don't ever hire this guy unless you want to cry when you see your house! The guy was supposed to paint 3 bedrooms (ceiling and walls), kitchen, LR, DR ceiling only with faux finish, and that took him over 6 weeks! 4 ceilings needed to be skimcoated to get them smooth. Originally he said he would be done in 2-3 weeks. The delay was not because painting took so long, it is because the guy was a no show and he would bring a different crew every time he showed up, or just give keys to our house to some other crew (GRRR). He was constantly late or no show. For example we would agree to meet at 9:30 AM and he would not show up till 1:30 PM. Being at least 2h late was a standard, either that or no show at all. It was a house we just bought and wanted to have it painted before we moved in. In the end we had to push our move (which ended up costing us more money) as the house was a big mess, with dust and paint everywhere. I had to spend 1 week painting myself to fix what they've done. Not a single line was straight. Parts of the walls were not painted as the guy would start painting for 30 min. and then take off for half the day, and they simply forgot to paint the rest. I gave him and his crew keys to the house at the beginning and then had to change locks and take the keys away to provide personal supervision before things went even worse. I also had to readjust my work schedule to work from the house when they were there to make sure they show up and do what they are supposed to without breaking anything. The guy makes a good first impression (don't fall for it!) and everything is no problem. However, in the end, maybe 10% of things got done the way we agreed: - they consistently kept on using the wrong paint (I asked for oil for trim and he wrote it in the proposal but then used latex - as it is cheaper and easier to paint with). - they broke 2 of the doors, they don't close anymore. - he was not able to match the color on the faux finish (which he said would be no problem). - he got arrested for driving without license - makes me wonder that he probably does not carry any insurance, so if he damages anything in your house you will need to pay. - painted the windows glass over completely, which then took me 2 hours to clean. - painted over kitchen cabinets. - left wet rags on wood pedestals, which ruined the wood. And in the end wanted $1,500 more than the original quote! Without even completing part of the job (he was also supposed to wallpaper my dining room, but I told him I didn't have the wallpaper yet as I did not want him to ruin my wallpaper with his sloppy job). Stay away from this painter if you can!
