We were asked to obtain our own permits for the project to help keep costs to a minimum. We learned that there were several steps required to complete the process that caused several missed days of work. We have dedicated large amounts of time to this project delivering materials, traveling to suppliers, and directing subcontractors. I am in the fortunate position of having family members in the construction business, never hire family to do personal work, and they helped us with the permit process and managing the project.
