The sales guy was great friendly and seemingly knowledgeable. After taking our $$$ the story turns. In short after dealing with multiple service technicians coming to the house to get the same information before the project could get started and then multiple project mangers and months of delays. The nearly $60K system we wee told about is not what was delivered or even capable of powering more than a handful of circuits. They ran 100amp backup off the 50amp inverter output. I'm not an electrician but this seems questionable. BUT... They'll be happy to upgrade it for thousands of dollars more. In addition the solar panel bracing was mounted parallel to the rafters vs perpendicular. Which it causing sagging because the footing was not mounted over trusses. Now we have to add structural support between the trusses.

Going solar couldn’t have been simpler. We discussed all of our options and received all the information we needed to make our decision. Straight Up Solar managed all of the permits, the site plan and the installation seamlessly. We are now paying our electric company a monthly fee for the meter and that’s it. I actually look forward to receiving the bill to see how many kWh I have banked!

Shannon Fulton, our main contact at Straight-up Solar, took the time to answer all our questions, and we went through quite a few different scenarios, each with pros/cons, before deciding to spread the solar panels over 5 different roof surfaces on the south side of our home. This was not a standard or easy installation, but every member of the team worked together, and in the end it worked beautifully. As soon as they flipped the switch, our monthly electric bill went to the $18 minimum monthly service charge. We are now in the shortest days of the year, so may have to pay a bit more than that, but so far the system has worked perfectly, and we are very happy to be generating clean energy and paying very low electric bills.

It went very well. They were very friendly and professional. Everything was done when they said it would be done.

Quite well. Our place is particularly well suited for solar (south-facing unshaded roof, not particularly visible from the street). Going into the winter months, we're close to two months ahead of actual power consumption. Net billing is a great thing!
