Very pleased with appearance of fittings and design of space.

We moved in to a brand new home in Urbana and immediately tore out all the cheap white wire shelving in all the closets installed by the builders. We chose SOS based on their website and a design consultation. Andrea's team delivered beautifully. 
From the consultation with Kate to the 2-day installation with Brandis, everything went smoothly. (SOS had to come back a third day when they discovered errors with the planning for two of the cupboards. It wasn't an inconvenience and they were very gracious, so no need to dock any points.) They did 10 closets and 2 cupboards in all. Brandis was just the right kind of perfectionist, making sure everything was just so. 
We had the 2 master closets turned into our dream closets (who ever imagined we'd have wire pull-out drawers dedicated to our mountains of our unfoldable, day-glow cycling gear?) and 4 other closets turned into additional storage space with shelves, with the option to later convert them to long-hang clothes cupboards. The spaces are so much more usable and attractive than before.

We had an obscene amount of clutter in our basement. My mother is a preschool teacher and she often brings home her class room works when her students move on to a different unit, or that are out of season. Every summer when my mother was off it would take weeks of sifting through all her works and getting organized, but even then it was impossible to walk through the basement and reach the back yard and the pool. My brothers and I got together and decided she needed a shelving system to store all her school stuff, so we shopped around, but had no clue what we were doing, so we called Storage Options and Solutions. They sent out a very nice young woman to measure and give us an estimate. She was very helpful and accommodating, not to mention non-judgmental (as there was a considerable amount of clutter she had to work through). She worked around my schedule, even making a trip out during non business hours (4 pm on a Saturday afternoon). She offered a variety of designs with a variety of materials with a wide price range. She was very professional and relayed the pros and cons of all materials and designs. She was very open to making the numerous changes that I wanted and made herself very available during the whole process. The installation went perfectly and I was extremely happy with the quality of materials as well. I will be sure to call Storage Options and Solutions for my next project because they far surpassed my every expectation,.

The gentleman doing the installation was very nice and accommodating and he did everything to address our concerns.  My problem was with the regional representative.  Because the wood products were prohibitively expensive, we opted for laminate but were very specific that we were concerned about the quality and durability because we have had problems with laminate in the past.  We showed the representative a laminate shelving structure in our home that we were happy with and she assured use (by showing us a sample) that it was similar if not superior.  However, upon installation, the laminate was chipped and in some cases gouged. Additionally, we ordered drawers with two pulls each but received drawers with only one pull.  After partial installation (reason for partial installation described below), the representative visited and assured us she would address our concerns by ordering new laminate. The representative explained that  because we changed the installation date, the laminate was damaged by transporting from the truck back to their storage facility while awaiting the new installation date (in other words, it was our fault the laminate was damaged).  The newer pieces were better but I noticed one small chip on a shelf that we just decided to hide by reversing the shelving so that it would not be seen.

Please note: the installation was halted because no prior discussion was had regarding the existing closet baseboard, which prevents flush wall installation.  Regardless of installer, make sure you have a conversation about (1) whether to cut baseboards to facilitate flush installation and (2) whether you want matching baseboard installed on the newly installed closet (assuming the closet install goes to the floor).  The representative did not alert us to this fact and therefore installation was halted while we discussed options.  We opted to cut the baseboards (that the installer accomplished very well) and opted not to install any baseboards on the closet base.

Bottom Line: I am not happy that I spent a good sum of money for a small closet install with a product that I fear will not hold up well.  I write this review so you won't make the same mistake.  I really wish I could have written a good review because I like to patron what I consider local "mom and pop" stores, but just could not do it here.
