Technician first assessed the problem, quoted competitively, completed the job within time and cost quoted and did an excellent job.

I called a few contractors and decided upon Masters Brothers. They came out that same day, determined the cause and fixed the problem, all very within an hour or two. Extremely competent and professional.

My power went out Saturday night. Sunday I called a few different companies and Master Bros were the only ones to call back. They were out within 2 hours and had the power on within 45 minutes.

Just after moving into our new house, I heard the furnace making a loud noise. The vibrations were so bad it was shaking the floor above. When I popped off the door of the furnace, I was surprised to see that water was standing in the bottom. I don't know much about furnaces, but I am pretty sure they shouldn't have water inside. Why does all of this happen when husbands are out of town?  So, I texted our builder, who called Master Brothers. Within minutes, Ryan was at the door. I mean, this was a Friday evening, in the winter, dark and bitter cold. But there he was, ready to fix the furnace. He took out pieces and he put in pieces and, basically, performed some kind of magic. Furnace was fixed and all was well.
Ryan went beyond just fixing the furnace. He walked me through the basics of changing my own furnace filter. Then, he even went so far as to register the products for me so I would be sure to get the extended warranties.
We aren't new to this area. We've lived here for 25 years. Up until this year, we used another large company in town, at two previous homes. Honestly, it was hit or miss when those guys would come over to inspect the furnace. It was one problem after another. Clearly, they needed a bit more training.
I can't believe it took us a quarter of a century to figure out we needed to change companies. But we finally did and couldn't be happier.

My heater fan went out during an early spring cold snap.  I called this company and one other around noon on a Friday.  the other company told me that likely they would charge me after hours prices because they could not get to my house before 4pm.  Masters Brothers promised me that even if they did arrive after 4pm, they would not charge me after hours prices because I had called in time on Friday.
The technician could not have been nicer.  He immediately found the problem, left to get the part, came back and installed it, then helped me with some other estimates - all late in the afternoon on a Friday.  I signed up for the Preferred Customer Program, highly recommended.  This immediately took 15% off my bill, and signed me up for 2 free cleanings annually - one for the heater and one for the A/C.  The heater cleaning was scheduled for today- again the technician was very fast, through, explaining all about my heater and what to expect in the future.  They will contact me later in the spring for the A/C cleaning.
I also signed up for duct cleaning, which I have been meaning to do, and they do electrical.  So far, so good - I am impressed with their professionalism, service, promptness, and again, the Preferred Customer Program (which has frankly already paid for itself) is a very good one.

Landon is a star. He is so polite and kind and very willing to give advice. I had him come to my house about a year ago to do some work. The house is nearly 100 years old there is all manner of wiring and mess; nothing is a quick and easy job here. He was so good that I recommended him to a friend who had also purchased a new, old home. He did a lot of work for her and today I had Landon back to do a laundry list of things. He was fast and helpful, as always. I cannot recommend him enough. The best part for us, as consumers, is that the Masters Brothers company does not over charge -- $160 for two hours of work and a couple of parts. Can't beat that! (And, Landon tells me that, if you get their service plan for furnace maintenance, you can get 15% off all electrical work).

Terrible.
These folks are great at estimates but that's where it stops.
There work didn't meet my expectations, their customer service was terrible.
The furnace has stopped function twice since I owned it. One of the times, they couldn't even get anyone over here for over two days. My next door neighbor had to fix the unit for me (thank goodness for him).
Avoid these people like the plague.

Response from Masters Brothers
"We do apologize that this customer felt he had a bad experience with our company. We worked very hard to satisfy what he requested on this changeout, but unfortunately he had expectations that could not be met. We did what we could to fix what he believed to be errors on his system, but he refused several of the solutions we offered. We never received any calls that the unit had stopped working after the install. If we would have, we would have honored the warranty provided with the unit."

Excellent, responsive, and punctual service. Lydia, the office manager, is helpful and prompt with both emails and phone calls, and Landon, the electrician we had both times (I specifically requested him the second time), was great and everything was as promised and cleaned up. He also was very patient answering my questions and tolerating me changing my mind a couple of times :). Minor quibble on price as they do seem a little bit pricier than some other electricians, but they make up for it with professionalism, and I will continue using them as a result.

Because I bought my own unit and just had Master Bros put it in, I was essentially informed that any warranty claims would have to be taken up with manufacturer. Since my furnace is getting on in years and due for servicing this year anyway, I did sign up for their HVAC checkup program which also reduced the cost of the service call.

The tech was great. It was a Saturday of a holiday weekend and he was here within an hour. I paid the weekend rate but it was worth it. There was no salesmanship (i.e. I think you also need...), just plain professionalism. He fixed me up and made me a happy customer. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Part of the experience was that I don't think the design and electrical configuration was done as efficient or as good as what could have been done. They didn't seem like they had a lot of insight or foresight of some of the things that they should have for building a $750000 custom home. I talked to Rick Masters, the owner and at that time I was told that the job was 98% done. Their talk was ripped. The job was only 60% - 65% done. I told them "I am being asked by the title company and the bank to pay you for 98% completion. Are you promising me that you're going to complete the job and do everything as outlined to the original agreement?" He said "Yes, you don't have to worry. I'll complete the job. I'll take care of it." Several months after that, things were still not completed. I made a complete list of what was outstanding sent to both his office and his wife who works there. She was surprised by the amount of work that was still left. I scheduled the time and Rick says that he wants half of the remaining $1800 that's left for the job. I said "Rick, you're still no at the 98% completion." He says "I'm going to come out one more time to finish your house." There was a lot of work that needed to be done. I do not know too many homeowners like myself to take time off to come to the house and help the electrician to un-box my lights and help the electrician basically with installing. He sent me a massive text telling me that we were over and that he wasn't going to finish my job. I'm sorry he felt that way. I had to hire another electrician to finish the work. Then I come to find out a year later when he had hooked up my geothermal system, that he had put my geothermal pumps on a regular meter and I was getting charged a much higher rate. I found out that my microwave and my stove was not hooked up appropriately after asking him many, many times. He actually pig-tailed the over two-way feature wire outlet to get the necessary power that they needed. I had to have the wall opened up. I had to have the code air box opened up and had that rewired appropriately. His project for my house didn't take a long time to complete. It wasn't that they weren't over-invested in time. It's just that the time took longer. I t took longer because I had many issues with the sub-contractors. They didn't finish what they said they were going to do.
Response from Masters Brothers
"I am happy to give the full story behind this review and the issues encountered working on this house if anyone reading this wants to call me. I'm sure anyone reading it will gather there is MUCH more to the story! In short, however, I do agree with this customer that we did refuse to keep working after a refusal to pay the balance owed, as it was apparent they had no intentions of doing so."

We prompt, professional, and informative. We had they installer comeback and replace some outlets and reroute some electrical so we could install a heater in the garage. The installer didnt and quot;padand quot; the time spent on the installation. Very Happy.

They are always prompt, respectful of the house, and they do excellent work. The technicians are polite and are conscientious about cleaning up messes. They don't even laugh at my husband when he installs the air conditioner filter incorrectly.

They did a good job. There was another company who wanted to put in a whole new heating system because I had a leak in the Freon. So, I appreciated what Masters Bros did. The cost was about $100. They work on air conditioning and heating. They respond quickly. They do a lot of different types of things. I would definitely use their services in the future too.

I was given the list of what was to be done when the service man left.
He did # 1, 3, 5, 7, 10.
Service man said # 4 did not need to be done, sealed motor bearings.
When I called and asked about cleaning the indoor evaporating coil (which was not done) I was told
it was to much work I had to call twice to get an answer.
The filter he had was damaged and it took two weeks to get a replacement. (Did get two)
I feel that if they say they are going to do certain things they should do them or take them out
of the brocure, which should be given to the customer first.
Most people do not watch the inspection so they never know what was done.
This was a deal from the Pantagraph for $35.00. The Inspection costs I belive $110 or $120 normally.
It was worth $35.00

We have a yearly maintenance agreement with them. They do great work; they are just expensive. I will use them again in the future.
