We had difficulty communicating at times because he had some family issues that delayed him several days and then he was going back and forth between jobs trying to please everyone he had contracted with. In the end, it was well worth the wait. During the search for a contractor, two told me that Jennings was the best between Chicago and St. Louis at refinishing hardwood to match new hardwood. I can't vouch for that claim because I am not an expert, but I can say he exceeded my expectations with his work. If you want everything done in a perfect sequence, your patience may be tested. If you want it done right, I would highly recommend Jennings.

Very courteous and professional, very honest. Gave us excellent advice during the planning. Other contractors we got bids from gave advice that would have turned out to be bad news. Returned calls, showed up on time, finished on time. Did exactly what they said they would. Told us up front what they didn't know before getting into the job, and what might cause additional expense. Turned out nothing additional was needed, but we appreciated the heads up. This work was done on an older home, and surprises can happen.

Cliff's assistant arrived on time and was very professional. I showed him the rooms that needed to be done. He got right to work and completed the work in less than three hours. He cleaned up the scraps of carpet and the carpets look great.

This is my husband's account so he will probably leave a review too. I am very happy with our floor installation in the kitchen. We have gone through crap for 3 weeks with a Home Improvement Center and decided to call a private company and are glad that we did! Being a woman, I appreciated the neatness and cleanup of everything too! I would recommend Jennings to everyone. The $275 was for the installation of sub flooring that the linoleum would be placed on and the installation of the linoleum. We picked out and paid for the sub flooring and linoleum and Jennings picked it up. We were quite tired of the Home Improvement Center telling us we couldn't do this, we couldn't do that, let me talk to this person, let me talk to that person. There was a lack of listening. It was ridiculous! We learned a good lesson!

I purchased a home in bad repair with hardwood floors in three bedrooms. The hardwood was covered with carpet that had been glued, stapled, and nailed down. The floors also were creaky, badly marked, had many spaces between the boards, had pet stains in some areas, and had evidence of a poor refinishing job in the past. Cliff Jennings refinished the floors, filled in the cracks, minimized the creaking, and sealed the floors with three coats. He was extremely attentive to detail and made significant effort to make sure we had the best outcome possible. He even went into the crawlspace to check things from underneath when he noticed evidence of a leak problem near a bathroom. He prepared a small sample area on the floor for me to view the color prior to starting the entire floor. He also took the time to give me helpful information even on projects that were unrelated to the floor. He maintained an upbeat, pleasant attitude throughout the job. He clearly enjoys his work. He kept me closely informed of the progress as I was not living in the home at the time. I had been planning to go to a local flooring store for hardwood for the kitchen, but now plan to have Jennings Installation provide and install the floor, as he is able to provide a wider variety of colors, do inlay design, etc., all at a better price; and I can be assured of the quality of both the floor and the installation. I also will call him when it comes time to install the carpet.
