My experience with Hawkey Heating and Cooling was fantastic. From the quote process to the installation was a little over a week; far sooner than I thought it would be due to the intense heat wave experienced by central Illinois this summer. The most important factor for me in buying a new heating and cooling system was the understanding of what was available, what my home needed and what I could expect throughout the lifespan of a system. Eric Hawkey, the owner, took the time to sit with me and explain the differences between the energy efficiency information, what it would mean to the immediate energy costs, and the cost savings over 5-10 years. He shared his experience with service calls for different systems educating me on what to expect. He encouraged me to ask questions and do research on the different brands that he liked working with in his business. He was very upfront about the fact that he would install the brand and models that I chose stating that this was a decision of the homeowner - not the decision of the company that would be purchasing and installing the systems. His approach was completely different than the other company I called. The other company told me what I needed and what brand would be installed. When I asked Eric about the system that had been quoted to me he was honest and forthcoming about issues he had seen with that brand and some information on how the products were made. I never felt pressured to pick a specific brand. I have great respect for a business owner who educates his customers. As far as customer service, I was called when the agreed upon time couldn't be met for the final quote and purchase appointment which I appreciated. Additionally, all of the old systems were removed and disposed of properly, (Eric told me how the old thermostat containing mercury would be processed) and there was no mess or and ldquo;bitsand rdquo; for me to clean or vacuum when the work was done. Eric and his employee were courteous and respectful and treated my home and my time with the highest level of professionalism.
