Good sized backyard needed a fence makeover for dogs. He was able to use the existing posts which are still in good condition and property set in concrete. 4-day project to tear off the old fence and create the new one....which is much sturdier and better constructed than the old one. Gates are strong and sturdy too; I always wondered about the old ones when the central Illinois wind would pick up! I am pleased with how the new fence looks and with its construction. Worker replaced my mailbox post, too, which was damaged a while ago.

Had him come out and give me an estimate, 2 days later I told him I would like for him to do the work. He told me that it will be about a month before he could put it in, so the ground could thaw. It was not a problem waiting, I would rather have the fence posts set correctly then to have them messed up. I had a shed that was close to the fence and I was worried that my dog would be able to get behind the shed, so I asked the installers what I might be able to do to make it so that my dog would not go behind the shed. The installed said oh don't worry about that, we will just put two more post on each side so he could not get behind the shed. They had to pound those post in but did not complain about it or give me a look of discuss. The installer also noticed a gap between the house and the first post that he thought my dog could get through, he explained that they try to get the post next to the house but sometimes when they dig they start to hit the foundation cement, so they have to move a little distance from it. He installed a short line post there caped it and painted it black for me. My yard does have a steep slope and the installer did not like the way the weilded gate looked so he pounded the gate into the ground so I could let my dog out without a least, and he said he would be back in a day or so with a new gate. He noticed it before I did, and it was not even bothering me, but it was bothering him so he decided he was gonna make the new gate. The installer pays attention to details and he was really wanting it to look right. He even stopped by on the weekend to add a third coat of paint to the fence weilds. Very good company to work with. I would use them again if I need another fencing project done.

Provided some temporary chain link panels to keep our puppies from getting away while we waited for the ground to thaw.
Then when the weather warmed they installed a new dog eared cedar fence with a gate. They accomodated a request for a small chain link section so that the dogs could see out.
Every one we dealt with at Bloomington Fence was a pleasure to deal with. If you like friendly people who are nice to work with and who do good work, call these guys.

Stewart Hutchinson came out and gave me an estimate within a few days of when I first called.
He told me it would be about six weeks before they could get to the work. That was the first week
in May. It was about eight weeks before they could start on the work, but the delay was due mostly
to rainy weather.
The old fence was torn out and the new posts were set on that day.
About a week later the installation people came to install the new fence.
They were very courteous and efficient.
My only complaint would be the piles of dirt left around the posts.

Met with Stewart Hutchinson Monday, May 13, 2013 and the original estimate was 5 to 6 weeks. I called after 5 weeks and was told 2 more weeks. Those 2 weeks passed and was told that JULIE would be out by Friday to mark my yard. I called JULIE and was told that no one had called to scheduled to come to my address. On Monday, JULIE did show up and said someone had called on Friday before 4:00 p.m.. On Friday, July 19th, the team that puts in the post showed up. It was very hot so they only worked until noon then they came back on Monday and finished installing the post. A week later after the concrete had set up Stan and Dave came to put up the panels. Then he came back a 2 days later to finish trimming the posts and capping them. He had mentioned that he would readjust the dirt back around the posts, but he did not do that.
The fence looks great but I was disappointed in the time it took to get the job completed.

Stewart Hutchinson, the owner, was very friendly and professional when I met with him for a quote on my fence repair. He gave me an excellent price and said if the weather cooperated they would be out on May 14th to put it in. Just so it isn't a shock to anyone wanting fence work done, you must give a 50% deposit of the quoted price as a down payment. (All other bidders told me the same thing.)
I received a phone call from Stewart and he said they would be out in a few days to do the posts. The workers showed up on time and were very professional. They very also very friendly. Their first visit consisted of them pulling out the bad 4x4 posts and putting in new posts with cement. They said they would have to wait about a week to do the rest of the work so the posts would get set very well and the dirt would get to settle in around them to help prevent rot later on. The next week they came out to do the fencing. After they arrived I talked with them about having a little more work done than I had originally asked for. They gave me a price for the extra work and I agreed to have it done. They removed the old fencing and installed the new. They even did some extra things like moving several big rocks out of the way so the fence could be done. They didn't have to do this, but I was thrilled they volunteered to do it. It's been about 2 months and the fence still looks great. They talked me out of staining the new fence as I had done to my old one. I'm glad I didn't stain it. It will now age to match all the neighboring fencing. They also said if I found anything wrong or any other problem showed up later on, I could call them and they would be right out to fix it. Bloomington Fence gives a nice guarantee.
I would definitely hire them again!!!

Bloomington Fence did a great job. After my initial phone call, they were very quickly on site and gave me a quote containing 4 separate options for fencing my yard, with the salesman providing the relative advantages and disadvantages of each option. Once I selected the steel fence option, Shane and his partner were on-site a few weeks later to set the posts and provide instruction on how to best care for the posts until the concrete had set. Once the concrete had set, Shane was back to install the fence and asked that I call the company if I ever had any questions or concerns. The fence looks great! I highly recommend Bloomington Fence.

Perfect. Showed up to do estimate. Explained exactly what the estimte involved. Came when they said they would. Cleaned up everything and was very polite and professional. My yard has lots of "obsticales" and they handled everything with no problems.
