Baxsters American Grill

Our experience wasn't good.  My husband and I went to dinner for a night out.  We started dinner with some salads, which were well worth the price.  However, I ordered the seafood jambalaya and it was horrible.  The description said shrimp, scallops, andouille sausage with a spicy blend of peppers and tomatoes served with white rice.  However, when I got my food, it had all of these things PLUS onions and avocado.  I wasn't aware that avocado was in a southern dish.  I picked out what I could instead of having to wait for something new if I sent it back.  When I started eating, the dish was so spicy that I couldn't eat it.  My husband (who was with me) is from Louisiana, where this dish is a southern tradition.  He also found it strange that avocado was on it.  He loves spicy food and practically grew up on it, but it was also so spicy for him that he couldn't eat it.  The waitress was very attentive, agreed that those items shouldn't have been included since it wasn't part of the description, and took care of the situation immediately.  Kudos to the waitress, which was the best part of the evening.  But despite the good customer service, we will never go back to this restaurant because of the food.  The purpose of eating at a restaurant is to eat something good that meets your expectations that starts at following the description of the food.  If this entrée stays on the menu, they need to update the description.
