Rick's Remodeling

Difficult to give an ending date because even at this date (3/2013) we are finding shortcuts taken by Rick that seriously affect the job he did for us. Several days ago we had a new gas stove installed and discovered that the gas line he put in was to small for the stove. When we had a new roof installed I discovered that the venting system he installed to the roof for the exhaust fan over the stove was to small according to the installation guide and could cause failure of the vent exhaust fan. The roofing company helped me rectify this problem by installing new piping. A Kohler sink Rick installed in a bathroom had a nick and he threw a temper tantrum because he had to replace it on his time (his money). Kohler paid for the sink. The shower door (Kohler) that he installed in the shower that he built leaked. After weeks or should I say months of playing around with Rick saying try this and try that I finally called Kohler. I told Rick that he should make the call to Kohler which he finally did. Problem solved ? I see no evidence of a leak at previous site but something is happening at other side of door opening. In the past I had hired Rick's Remodeling to remodel a family room. He hired at that time young men with limited experience and little supervision from him or any one with experience . Some had limited knowledge of construction but most were ignorant of the process. In the process of remodeling the kitchen and a bathroom a leak occurred in a pipe they were working on hours or days after they worked on it. The cost to repair the water pipe came out of my pocket. Rick is not a professional in the way he deals with his customers. When he or his customer has a problem he runs from it or ignores it or becomes nasty. He does a job halfway. A friend and neighbor used Rick's Remodeling for a bathroom remodel because I had. They will never use him again for the same reasons I have mentioned. Another neighbor told me that she wanted to remodel bathrooms in her home and asked if I could reommend Rick. I told her that she had to be very watchful, and explained some of the problems I and the other neighbor had had. My husband is a very quiet man, slow to become alarmed or angered but at the end of the remodel of the kitchen and the bathroom even though problems still existed he said no more Rick. Little things add up and they become big things.

While Rick's price was right in the middle his work was definitely top of the line. Rick laid out a work schedule for us, detailing what he will get completed each week, week by week. He finished right on schedule, too, despite the various changes and add-ons that we threw at him. For example, my mind was set on an oversize, free-standing island range hood. Rick assured me it was no problem, and he waited patiently for me to select the one I wanted. Despite the huge hassle, they hung it perfectly without complaint. Rick also very considerate of our family.He worked well my wife and I from start to finish. He listened to all of our ideas, offered creative solutions, informed us of all options then let us make an informed decision. Most importantly, Rick is honest. He and Jimmy were always on time and always left our house clean. What more can anyone ask for?
