DUGGER SWIMMING POOLS INC

Dugger Swimming Pools is a locale company that has been in business  since the 1960's. We worked with John Dugger, who is the son of the founder of the company. I would have the say I have never hired anyone who worked as hard as this company does to do things right the first time.  Never had a problem with the crew showing up on time or doing the work right the first time. My husband and I enjoyed talking to Doug and his crew during the whole process. If they didn't have an answer to a question, they would get one almost right away. Our pool has fiberglass sides with a concrete bottom, with crushed sea shells. We also used tile for borders as a edge to the top of steps, sundeck and bench in the pool. What a difference that made for the overall appearance. They also poured additional cool decking to complete the look of the patio area.  Any delays we had were cause by the landscape company, more about that in my next review. 

Even though pool construction is a big messy job, these guys went out of their way to make it as painless as possible  to endure. This is our first pool, and these guys were wonderful to work with, I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

John Dugger was very easy to work with, he was very up front with prices and the time it would take to build pool. Always available to answer any questions we had time a timely manner.  As for the crew who did the install, they to were easy to work with, very professional, and polite.  They always checked to see if we wanted to make changes or confirm that everything was in the right place,
These fellow knew what they were doing, and if you had a question they could answer it right away.  We liked them so much that we even cooked for them.
After pool was in Dugger sends out someone to teach you all you need to know about taking care of everything. That was very important to us.  I even video tapes what he was showing us to make it easy to double check that we were adding chemical correctly, and doing the right maintenance.
They will be coming back in the next couple of weeks to close and cover the pool.  I am so glad we decided to go with the fiberglass side and concrete bottom.  It is just beautiful and I don't have to worry about my dogs punching a hole in a liner.  They also did a great job pouring the cool decking, it looks great, we couldn't be happier.

At the time (April 2011) we bought our new house we were living in another state.  I was retiring from the military and had to finish up things at my current station in GA so we wouldn't be moving in immediately.  Our realtor had suggested we use Dugger's to get the pool up and running and maintain it while we were finishing up at our old place.  We scheduled the appointment for April 27th.  The appointment was for 12 pm.  2 pm came and they hadn't shown.  Called and the desk person said the techs were running behind.  I said a phone call would have been nice.  He said he would be sure to in the future.  Two hours later and they arrived.  They couldn't get the pool running.  Referred it to the head maintenance tech for that Friday.  The lead tech arrived an hour late.  Got the pool running but needed some pipes replaced because of leaks.  We had to leave and go back to our home in GA the next day (Saturday) and we scheduled the repairs for the following Monday with my in laws to come out and assist the tech if he needed anything.  The tech said to leave the pool pump running to get it to start cleaning the pool.  The following Wednesday came and they had not came out.  I called and the person took a message for the lead tech.  That Friday, no phone call so I called again and again they took a message.  The following week I called and asked to speak to the owner.  They took a message and shortly later the owner called me back.  He took the info contacted the lead tech and I was called back by the lead tech.  He scheduled the repairs for a few days later.  He called me that day and said there was no power out at the pool.  I called my in laws and they came out to check all the breakers but the tech had left.  I called the tech and asked why he had left and he said he he thought I would have my in laws out later so he left.  I said they are out there now.  He said he was on another job.  My in laws checked all breakers and the pool had power but the pump appeared to have burned out because the tech said to leave it running and did not show up on time to perform the repairs and maintenance that we agreed upon.  The tech installed a new pump the following week and it was up and running but he did not fix the pipe leaks yet.  My in laws where taking care of the pool but after a couple weeks they said it started turning green and they couldn't get it stay clean.  So I called Dugger's and I got the run around from the people at the desk when I called for the tech and he was not answering his cell and his voicemail stopped working.  I eventually was able to speak with the NEW lead tech and he told me the other guy was either fired or quit a couple weeks earlier.  My wife had come to town to take care of some things and spoke with the new lead tech and she told me he was rude to her when trying to get things scheduled to find out what was wrong with the pool.  He told her it's not his job to clean the pool for us.  So I called him and was able to come to an agreement that he be able to answer questions from my in laws about the pool and scheduled a time for him to look at the pool and figure out why it wouldn't stay clean.  When he came out, he found the chlorine generator had went out.  So we ordered a new one and he installed it.  After that, he was no longer "available" when my in laws had questions.  Since then I have retired, moved into the house and when it came time to close the pool and get a new cover, I called Atlantis Pools.  They cam out that day, took measurements, and 2 weeks later when the cover arrived they installed it and closed the pool.  They were here til 8 pm on a Friday night getting it taken care of.  I wish I had called Atlantis from the get go!
