From a young age, I watch my dad weld, make art and fix just about anything. And I learned quickly that working with my hands is my true calling, too. Despite missing the thumb on his right hand, my father possessed an incredible determination and resourcefulness that allowed him to fix and make anything. His resilience was inspiring, and he passed his knowledge onto me. My dad and I would always celebrate completing our projects with a High Four. It symbolized our bond, strength, and unwavering spirit to face life’s challenges. My father's thumb may have been missing, but his perseverance and love has left a permanent mark on my life.
