I would strongly caution others against using Oswaldo Castro. To his credit, we were on a very tight timeline and were delayed by Oak Park's lengthy permitting process. Notwithstanding those issues, however, we have been very disappointed with the quality of work and lack of follow-up. Since Castro "completed" the job this summer, we have encountered the following problems: -Shower floor tile and part of marble shower wall must be torn out and relaid. The floor was laid unevenly, causing water to pool in one corner of the shower. Additionally, the tile was sealed with grout rather than caulk at the vertical/horizontal planes. The grout began cracking approximately a month after it was laid, letting water under the shower. In the process of attempting to repair the cracks by taking out the grout and caulking these areas, we realized that the rubber lining was laid incorrectly, allowing water to seep underneath and, if left unaddressed, eventually rot the wood. -When we first attempted to use the shower, the water was either scalding hot or ice cold, and there was very poor water pressure. We hired an independent plumber to reinstall the shower nozzle and install a water pressure pump. Other, smaller issues include: -Water shut-off valve on toilet can't be turned without disassembling the valve. -Closet doors catch when we try to open and close them -Trim in bedroom was painted very sloppily When we initially contacted Castro about the cracked grout and his promise to help us order a custom glass shower door, he stated he would fix the cracked grout. That was approximately one month ago, and since then he has stopped responding to our communications and we have learned about the additional issues with the shower. We will be hiring someone else to fix all remaining problems.
