We received the quote quickly and everything was explained and laid out for the project. We scheduled the start date and it ended up being moved up a couple weeks due to rain which was great. Two workers were there for two days and stayed late to complete the job. Overall I was pleased with the outcome and would use them again.

Really well with the exception of how long the tools on the lawn. It did not result in damage but I was worried as it hit that week mark.

It went well overall but the supervision seemed to be lacking.  They must have been spread very thin.  Happy with the end result.

I used them before and I was pleased with them. I didn't use them because the quote they gave me was outrageous.

Response from Precision Painting & Decorating Corp

"We would love to provide an estimate for this work! We were never contacted outside of the Angie's List system and were never provided a phone number. Here is the exact copy of the communication we have had with the customer. janice dillard 4/29/2015 hi I have 2 bathrooms that I need the wallpaper removed and then pained. Precision Painting & Decorating Corp 4/29/2015 Janice, I would love to set up an estimate for you for the above work. If you would please call our office I can do that for you. 630.688.9423. Thank you, Wendy Stott Operations Administrator Precision Painting & Decorating 2600 Van Buren St. Bellwood, IL 60104 630.688.9423 janice dillard 4/30/2015 ok I will call later today. As of 5/11/2015 @ 10:30am we have never received a call or message from Mrs. Dillard. Our office is fully staffed and phones answered live M-F 8AM-6PM, then voice mail monitored via email after hours. It's a shame to receive an "F" rating from a customer whom we have never spoken too. We would ask that this rating be removed or revised after we have had a real opportunity to quote the project. Thanks!"

Jenna came over to evaluate the work and gave me an estimate within a week. I contacted Precision and scheduled the work to be done. The workers came out and worked diligently to remove the wallpaper, which was quite a job. They put up plastic to minimize the spread of dust. They left in the evenings after cleaning up and returned over the next few days to remove, prep and paint the walls. The workers were very professional and if unsure of what I wanted, asked questions. They were polite and very neat. The final job was beautiful! I will definelty use them for any future projects.

Overall performance was exemplary.  It took about  two weeks to complete the work with generally three men (occasionally two ) on the job.  Although there was some turnover of personnel on the job, all workers were experienced, professional and personable.  Quite a few man days were dedicated to preparation, cleaning and scraping.  Virtually all surfaces had to be primed before painting.  Shrubs were protected and the job site was cleaned up each day.  The only negative was a failure to complete the job by a specific date even though it was represented that additional crew would be assigned to meet this timetable.
I consider this firm to be a quality, high class operation.  High quality work at a competitive price.  I would highly recommend them.

On Oct 20, painters from Precision Painting and Decorating came to execute our $3500 contract to paint the two porches and some trim on our house at 2545 W Logan Blvd.  Paul and Guiermo on Monday.  Sal, Guiermo, and Eduardo on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Sal and Eduardo on Thursday.  These men did such an incredibly good job that two weeks later we still go out every day just to look at and enjoy their work.  They were all the most professional and personable tradesmen that I have ever dealt with over the last forty years or so.  I commend them and Precision Painting and Decorating. The contract was completed when promised and on time.  I would use this company in the future in an instant and will  recommend them whenever given the chance.

One word - disaster.
Pros:
- reasonable quote
- friendly estimator, office manager, and painters
Cons:
- terrible communication and scheduling (can't emphasize this enough)
- sloppy workmanship
Contract was signed July 22.  Deposit was paid within a few days afterward.  Scheduling the job was difficult to say the least.  I left numerous messages for Scott, the "scheduler", over a three week period - both on his voice mail and directly with the office manager.  None were returned.  I fortunately didn't need the job finished right away, but I had just wanted it put on the schedule. Some definitive time frame whether it be two weeks, three, or even later.  Only after requesting my deposit back and cancellation of the job did someone get back to me, and I got my job scheduled.
Once started, the job took more than the originally estimated two to three days.  Weather of course was a factor for an exterior painting job.  But a crew was not sent on some obviously clear days.  Also, sending out a one-man crew on several days for a site that requires climbing up tall extension ladders contributed to the slow progress (and compromised the painter's safety).  The other issue was the lack of communication about if/when a crew was coming out to the job.  I would only find out only after inquiring mid-morning.  They finished the job on September 16 - almost two months later.
The quality of the painting work was poor.  They did not clean window sills of dirt on/next to painted areas and they didn't scrape much - only some sanding.  (The windows hadn't been painted in awhile and the paint was in poor shape.)  The painters were also sloppy in their work with lots of paint "outside the lines" - not much care to avoid getting paint on interior parts of the windows while open to paint them.  The two coats of white paint did not cover the old dark red color.  I specifically asked about this possibility during the estimate and was assured it wouldn't be a problem.  When asked about it after they completed the job, they said an additional cost was necessary.
Some suggestions:  Ask to schedule the job with the deposit and to have full crew work consecutive days until the job is finished as weather permits.
To their credit , the owner did offer to have his crews "make things right" after I told them of all these issues.  But I had had enough at this point after dealing with this company for two months for this one job and I declined.

In February the owner came out to my house to give me an estimate for painting the exterior trim on our house.  I was impressed with his knowledge and willingness to include additional items.  He included up to 50 feet of wood replacement and gave me a cost per foot if it went over that.  He included replacing a vent cover and also removing an awning that was attached to some of the trim that had to be replaced.  They were not the cheapest but based on my encounter with the owner and with the rave reviews on Angie's List I went with them.  They kept in touch during the spring to let me know when they would get to my house. They were delayed a few times but kept me informed. They came out the end of May to do the work but it took longer than they thought due to weather.  We ended up not being home when they finished the job.  When we returned from vacation it was storming and when we got into the house we found that our 14 foot retractable awning had been left extended in the storm. It was full of water.  I was able to remove the water and retract the awning.  The painters had to extend the awning in order to paint around it but failed to retract it.  Another awning, a custom made bay window awning had to be removed and was put back up per the contract.  However it was not put back up correctly.  I had to make some emergency repairs.  The actual wood replacement, painting and caulking was extremely well done.  I spoke with the general manager who apologized profusely, told me not to pay anything until they made it right.  I worked with the awning company and they had to come out and remount the bay window awning.  The retractable awning, while stretched a bit, was working and since it was 8 years old I decided to just let it go. The GM agreed to reduce the invoice by the cost of the awning company coming out.  At this point I was very impressed with the way the company handled a bad situation.  I paid the final invoice and then reminded the GM that I never got the left over paint back.  They had missed one spot that they had repaired and I was going to touch it up myself.  Once I paid the final invoice, I never heard from the GM again.  I tried multiple times to no avail.  I was not sure how to do the rating.  They did a great job on the painting, caulking and wood replacement.  They failed miserably on the awnings but I was willing to over look that based on how well they initially handled the problem.  But the fact that they stopped communicating after I paid my final bill left a bad taste in my mouth and that affect my rating.

Highly recommend!  From the salesman (Scott Lollar) to the painting team (Jack & Tino), I was impressed with everything.  Jack and Timo took the time to prep the house properly.  They actually scrubbed it down 2x to insure a good paint adhesion.  The attention to detail and the quality of work was great.  I would request Jack & Timo if I had to get my house painted again.
