Date/Issue 17-Jun-14 All relevant information provided to Inside_Out Construction to include this timeline of events.
Requested that the Contractor perform/have performed the repairs to the Kitchen ceiling and any other damage caused as a direct result of leaks from improperly sealed/installed flashing around the Solar panel.
Contractor response "I agree that we are responsible for proper installation of flashing, and if there is a flashing issue then I will be happy to fix that. The problem with the situation, I believe, is that the solar panel boxing is not water tight and with the shingles going seamless underneath it is not a problem but once we replaced it, it created a seam which was a concern we talked about when I first look at the roof and I talked to you about in our last conversation. You told me that you understood and did not want to remove solar panels. I would be happy to come by and go over it with you and see if we can find the problem. If it is something we installed improperly then I will definitely take care of it. Please return my call so we can figure this out."
Date/Issue 20-Jun-14 Using a water hose to and running water toward the Solar Panels I was able to conclusively document that the water was running under the unsealed flashing on the upslope of the roof and then getting under the unsealed flashing on the downslope area under the Solar Panel. Video of the action was taken.
Contractor response N/A
Date/Issue 21-Jun-14 Sent follow up email to contractor informing him that is action is not taken I will pursue other options to resolve this issue. To date no one from Inside Out has performed an inspection of the flashing around the Solar Panels to determine/correct the issue.
