Jack's response was to suggest that the problem was likely clogging of the cartridge due to body oils and other organics and recommend that I soak the cartridge in a solution of dishwasher detergent. I followed his advice and the problem has been essentially corrected. My purpose in writing this review, even though Custom Pools didn't do any work, is to point out how pleased I am with the FREE help from Jack. He could just as easily come out and performed the same cleaning and made a few bucks but instead chose to educate me at no charge. This is the sort of organization that I, and I hope others, will want to hire. Jack is now in my Contacts list for Pool Service and I recommend that others give him a try.

He spoke badly about some contractors and positively about others. The main reason we are not using Custom Pools is because he wanted to charge us $1,500 for a plan for the layout of the pool and pool decking. All other pool companies provide this as a service to the customer. When I am spending the amount we are on a pool I would like to see the plans first. What if I spent $1,500 and didn't like the plan. He had great ideas but unless I could see them on paper, without spending $1,500, I had nothing to go on if the ideas were even possible.

The project was pretty elaborate, they did a great job.  They worked efficiently and were thorough as well.
