Lou quoted me a price for a LiftMaster Model 8355W garage door opener for a two car garage door (7 ft door). He recommended the 1/2 HP, belt drive as a replacement for the similar size Craftsmen lifter that had stopped working correctly. Mike the installer called on the day of the appointment and arrived early. He checked both my door for spring tension and free movement without the lifters. He removed the old unit on the double door, installed the new LiftMaster and cleaned the work area. This was all done in little over an hour. We double checked that the new unit was working correctly and explained what I needed to do for the WiFi capability. Mike was outstanding. I am very satisfied with the new LiftMaster

The spring on my garage door broke Sunday evening. I called and emailed through website. I promptly got a call just after 7:00 Monday morning and the guys were out before 8:00. Took care of the work within 20 minutes. The guys who came out were great and answered my questions throughout the process.

Very well. I visited the Batavia office several times, apeaking with the helpful and professional staff. A representative met me at my garage, took measurements and advised me on clean-out requirements. Soon after, I received a proposal. I needed to spend time cleaning out the garage. Consolidated did not pressure me at all about the proposed work. Finally, some weeks later, I was ready to finalize the specific door, opener, back-up battery, bright light, and remote controls order. I submitted the deposit, about half of the total cost. I was gives a week's notice of the delivery and installation which was yestetday. It was a complicated job in part because the original and very heavy door was over 50 years old. The installer worked for over 5 hours in very cold weather. I was surprised that one person could do such a job single-handedly. He did a most excellent job and took time to explain to me how everything worked. I gave him a check for the balance due and he gave me a receipt, paperwork, and remotes. Now I have a great, solidly built top quality garage door that was an excellent value for its orice.

My brother-in-law manufactures doors, lives out of state and recommended Consolidated Garage Doors of Batavia. They were responsive and punctual. The entire job (removal and replacement) took about 3 hours. The new door looks and operates great. I would definitely use and recommend Consolidated for all your door needs.

It went extremely well. Don, the serviceman, showed up during the service window that Consolidated gave me. Don was quite personable and explained that he would do an excellent job of tuning up the door. In less than an hour Don was done and asked that I come out and see the results of his work. The door sounded wonderfully. I asked my wife to join us. Don did want us to know that the garage door opener did stick a little when used. My wife concurred with what Don said. We looked up the date when the opener was installed. ( Consolidated had installed the garage door and opener.) We came to realize that the opener was twenty -three years old. It had done its job but it was time for a new one. I want it to be known that in no way were we pressured by Don to install a new opener. It was my wife and my decision to make. Don did have an opener on his truck that was the same make as the one we had. My wife was concerned that he would not be able to install the unit before my wife had to leave for an appointment. Don assured her he could have it done prior to her leaving for her appointment. Don was completed the installation in less than an hour and my wife was able to make her appointment. More good news; Don waived the tune up fees for the garage and just charged for the installation of the opener.

I couldn't have made it easier for this company. I had already done my research  and knew exactly what I wanted.
They stopped by 06/25/15 , measured & took a 50% deposit , which took all of 10 minutes .
Everything seemed fine when the door was installed 07/16/15 . It was louder going up & down , but I figured it was due to a heavier door .
On 08/02/15 the door started malfunctioning ; bouncing back  , then not even coming down at all.
I tried to call Consolidated door , but they have NO EMERGENCY or after hours number.
Customers just have to wait until their usual business hours.
So I called the emergency number for the company that installed the opener in 2012  .
I was called back in a matter of moments  ; they had me look at the sensors to see if there was debris (none) & make sure they were lit ( they were. )
It was explained to me that the vibrations from the door were causing it to back up , so they had me press & HOLD the button to get the door to close on that 90 + degree day.
I got a call back from Consolidated on Monday at which time they were very uncooperative about coming to look at the door around my schedule. I can be home at 430p , which is plenty early for a week day.  Since they were unwilling to come after work or Saturday , I asked if I could hire someone else & have them reimburse me - I was told this would "Void my warranty". They tried to get me to have a neighbor be responsible for their visit if I couldn't be home at their convenience- I think any homeowner could see the problem with that.
The manager was literally expecting me to take time off work for this. ( how do they think I get the money to pay for the door ?)
At one point the manager even asked me, well how were you home for the install ? ( vacation day ) .
We left the conversation with the statement that they couldn't be sure when someone would be in the area , but would call me IN ADVANCE to let me know when they could be expected.
Not exactly what anyone could consider good customer service.
There seems to be some confusion with their concept of WHO is the CUSTOMER , & WHO should be ACCOMMODATING WHO.
Monday 08/03/15  & Tues 08/04/15 I hear nothing from them so I run errands on the way home from work.
As I'm returning home 08/04/15 I get a phone call from their tech telling me " it's 440pm & where are you ?"
If I had been #$%^&*  informed in advance they would be there, I would have come straight home !
THE TECH EVEN HAD THE NERVE TO LIE TO ME & TELL ME THEY HAD CALLED ME TWICE EARLIER IN THE DAY.
Really? If you had confirmed with me the first time , there would have been no need to call a second time.
Monday 08/03/15 & Tues 08/04/15 the door seems to be working on its own now. For how long I don't know. It still makes rattling noises going up and down.

As far as Consolidated Garage Door Ltd is concerned THEY GET A ZERO  for service after the sale.

***Update....Spoke w Phil at Consolidated 08/15/15 today @9:30 ....explained to him after examination that the garage door opener was not connected correctly by the technician...The tech probably figured "hey, it's not our opener , so who cares if it breaks ? "
The bolt is connected crooked , so no wonder it shakes each time the door opens & closes.
Phil actually told me "they only come to fix their mistakes during 'normal business hours' , like I'm a 1950's housewife with nothing to do . They had the opportunity to do the job for hours the first time. It is not my obligation to take time off of work due to THEIR MISTAKES.
The mistakes being; The door opener is not vertical causing the trolley to lean to one side which will eventually wear it out. The two bolts connecting the arm are even crooked. I sent photos to the wonderful company that installed the opener 2012 & they called it a "hack job".

I am a retired Engineer who has worked with and managed many technical people.  The Technician from Consolidated Garage Door deserves 5 gold stars for his knowledge and speed in the repair of my garage door.  This is the third time doing business with this company.  I purchased this door directly from them in 1996, had it serviced by them in 2005 and again today 7/27/2015.  They called approx. 1/2 hour before hand, arrived early, surveyed the damaged and broken parts, gave me the estimated repair cost.  The Technician then proceeded to replace, repair and test for smooth operation all within approx. an hour.  The final cost was less because of the 10% Angie's List  discount.  It is great to find a company that continues the fine American value of true service!

Mike and Ron called before coming to our home to make sure we were avaliable. Appointment scheduled between 12:00pm and 4:00pm. The came at 11:45 am! WOW! Who ever comes before they are scheduled? They  assest the problem quoted a price of $286.53 and after repairs that is what I paid. Both Ron and Mike were very professional and kept us informed of how the repair was progressing. It only took 45 min to replace the garage door springs, cables, and lubed the opener.
They did an outstanding job and tested it out with us before they left our home. So if you are having garage door problems call Consolidated Garage Doors Ltd. You won't be disappointed!

I called Consolidated Garage Doors for service when our door made a loud bang and reversed direction, while openingl. Although the garage door was still opening, it was noisy and running rougher than usual. They sent out a technician who inspected the spring, the tracks and the door opener. He identified that the top sprocket in the opener unit had shifted, and told me it could be repaired/tightened, but  it would most likely fail in a short period of time. Since the age of our opener was over 8 years, he recommended that we replace the garage door opener, however, he did not pressure me to replace the unit.
The phone receptionist with whom I spoke was able to make a service appointment for the very same day and called back within an hour to let me know a technician was on his way. The technician was very cordial, professional, and efficient. Within the hour, he had installed the opener, removed the old unit and left the garage area as clean as before. The price for the service call plus the new door opener was reasonable and fair. I would definitely recommend their services to friends and neighbors!
