Great - Tom explained the process, and they completed it on one day - came back to remove the forms after the concrete had cured. Looks fabulous, and done correctly - original stoop did not have rebar in it. Competitive pricing for complete replacement.

It went very well. We requested a quote very late in the construction season. Other contractors had already told us they were booked for the rest of the year and couldn't help us. We were unsure of exactly what we wanted, but were looking for a stamped and stained concrete patio. When Tom came out to give us a quote he was able to suggest a size and layout that worked for our space. It also turned out that he had an opening the following week. I believe we received his written quote by that afternoon, and then he showed up the following week to start work as promised. His team was very professional and gave me updates as needed. I was originally told that it was a two day project, but with some rain it was just a little longer. All in all, the project was done and sealed in less than a week. It looks amazing! Numerous neighbors have commented on how much they like it. I was pleased with how smoothly the project went and how quickly it was finished.

Excellent work. Tom and his team were professional, courtesy and helpful at every step. I had seen other Angie's List reviews about them and also had noticed other jobs by Sennstrom in my neighborhood, so I was confident that the work would be high quality and professional. These guys are the real deal -- they do excellent work and we are glad we hired them.

I first contacted Tom Sennstrom in May for an estimate. Tom gave us the estimate within 2 days by e-mail, it included doing the job in regular concrete and exposed aggregate. Over the next six weeks we received other estimates for doing the job in brick pavers or possibly a combination of brick pavers and exposed aggregate. Tom contacted me several times to see if we had made a decision for the work. We decided at the end of July to go with Tom, after seeing the same type of job he had done in Downers Grove.
 Tom said they would be out about 2 and1/2 weeks after they received the deposit. Toms' crew was there exactly on time. The foreman explained what they would do every day and answered any questions I had. Tom Sennstrom was at the job every day also. Tom even worked the days the concrete was poured, smoothing the concrete right along with his crew.
 The team of workers at Sennstrom is fantastic, they arrive on time and stay until the work they said would be finished, was finished.
I would highly recommend Concrete by Sennstrom for any concrete work. I would definitely use them again.
 I have had several people comment on how nice the job they did looks, and one neighbor hired them to do their drive and patio.

They did a good job! They were on time and on budget.

If you need concrete this is absolutely the man to call.  He has been in the business for over 40 years and has crew members he has had for 30 years.  Crews don't hang around that long unless they like what they do and who they do it for.  Sennstrom's crews are outstanding - they take great pride in their work and will keep at it until it is absolutely correct & their attention to detail is unsurpassed.  The crew is very professional and knowledgeable and keeps a very clean worksite.  It is a bit like watching a well-designed machine watching the team go to work.  Everyone knows when and where they need to be without much discussion - they just have it down. The work is both an art and a science that they have mastered.  Tom is a very open, honest and accessible owner who will absolutely make sure it is all done right. On a rainy day when other contractors may have poured the driveway anyway, or just not shown up, Tom notified me first thing - 8am that the chance of rain that day was too great to pour.  And he still loves what he does as much as the crew and comes out to join them on the pour days.

 

Sennstrom is not the cheapest but his price is dead on when you see his work. You get what you pay for in this profession and he is very well worth it!  Residential, commercial - he can do it all. An absolute would refer anyone who wants a first class job and would definitely use again!! It is an amazing team.

Went great!  
I reached out to Tom Sennstrom via email for an initial budget.  His response was quick and the budget was issued in PDF format and included plenty of information for included construction scope.  After dialing in a few alternate pricing options, we agreed upon the proposed scope and work was scheduled.
There was about a 3 week lag between signing the proposal and work beginning.  This allowed for the 1 1/2 week permit submittal and review.
Total construction time from demolition of existing pavement to stripping concrete forms was ~5 days.  We were able to drive on the new pavement within 5 days' curing.

Tom provided a new concrete driveway, walkway to the front door, and apron. Work took about 3 days, each night materials was left neatly on driveway, and all debris was removed. Result is excellent and we were very pleased with work.
